Second Hand Uniform Sale: Tomorrow TO BE HELD TOMORROW IN THE PERFORMING ARTS ROOMS FROM 8.00AM - 9.00AM.

This is a wonderful opportunity to purchase uniform items at bargain prices. As the expectation is that all students will be in the correct school uniform at all times, the Friends of Campbells Bay School second hand uniform sale is an event not to be missed if you are looking to replace certain uniform items. For further information please refer to the notice in this newsletter on page 2.

Intermediate Information Evening Reminder To be held in the Performing Arts Room from 7:00pm on Tuesday 4 August.

All parents of 2015 year six students are most welcome.

Mathathon The mathathon is well underway and should be homework for your children over the next week.

All the best students with your learning and the upcoming test on Friday 7 August.

Advance Notice: Official Opening of the New Building The new modern learning environment (MLE) building will be officially opened at 9.30am on Thursday 20 August. An invitation is extended to all parents of the school to attend this event. Weather permitting the opening will take place outside the building. A more formal invitation will be issued closer to the time. This will include a return slip to ascertain the numbers attending for catering purposes.

CBS Ice Skate Tour - Thursday 13 - Sunday 16 August A Pop up Ice Rink will be in the CBS hall during the above dates.

For an afternoon of fun. Come for an afternoon of skating and a sausage sizzle. The Coffee Guy will be there!

Please look out for notices in your child’s book bag - parent help is required to ensure Thursday afternoon’s food provisions can be delivered. This is a fundraiser for the school so please support this fun community event and help raise money for books and IT equipment for the school.

Second Hand Uniform Sale The Friends of Campbells Bay will be running a second hand uniform sale at school on Tuesday 4 August from 8:00 – 9:00am.

Helpers for the sale: Tuesday 4 August at 7:45am in PA room to help sell.

Buyers - Please come to the sale. Cash and cheque only.

The Friends of Campbells Bay group will collect 20% of the sale price to cover any administration costs, and as a fundraiser for the benefit of the school.

After each sale, we will pay you in cash for the items sold (ie, 80% of the sales price) or return your unsold items.

Donations of Uniforms - The group will gratefully accept any donations of uniforms and will sell these and 100% of the sales price will collected for the benefit of the school. We aim to price donated good quality uniforms at half the price of new uniforms. Please drop off donated items to the school office.

International Students

Care Share Wear - 2015 Thanks for your generosity over the last three years to this project. Each year CBS volunteers collect unwanted clothing and blankets from CBS families and distribute these to families in need in other schools. We are still collecting clean used clothes (babies to teenagers) for distribution to children in Auckland needing clothes.

Please bring them to the office by Tuesday 25 August.

We will also take adult clothing for families.

Care to help others, Share your unwanted clothes, and other families will Wear the clothes.

MA’A NONU VISIT

Wednesday last week was an exciting day as New Zealand ‘s rugby superstar Ma’a Nonu visited CBS. Our kapa haka group did a wonderful job of welcoming him into the school hall. The seven CBS rugby teams joined Ma’a for some handling drills, gathered autographs and got to ask Ma’a some questions about his life and his rugby career. A signed rugby ball to the school from Ma’a now sits in our trophy cabinet in the PA room for all to see!

RUGBY

Please remember that the Primary Schools’ Rugby Tournament Round 3 (final day) at Windsor Park is this Thursday (6 August). Please remember sports uniform,water, food, wet weather gear and warm clothing. Children need to be at school by 8.40 am please. If the tournament day is postponed due to bad weather, a message will be posted on the front sports page of the school website and on our school sports Facebook page. Draws for the games will be posted on ourschool website under “Sports” under “Rugby”.

TOUCH RUGBY

Please watch for a letter to be emailed out this week regarding Touch Rugby starting in Term 4. There will once again be two options for registering: (1) as a team (as arranged by parents/children) or (2) as an individual (to be placed into a team by the school). A team coach and manager will be needed for every team. Registrations will be closing on Friday 21 August.
