1, Use this unit only in the manner intended by the manufac-turer. If you have questions, contact the manufacturer atthe address listed in the warranty.

Follow theheating equipment manufacturer's guideline and safetystandards such as those published by the National FireProtection Association (NFPA), and the American Societyfor Heating, Refrigeration and Ai_ Conditioning Engineers(ASHRAE), and the local code authorities,

5. When cutting or drilling into walt or ceiling, do not damageelectrical wiring and other hidden utilities.

6. To reduce the risk of fire or electric shock, de not use thisrange hood with an additional speed control device.

7. Ducted fans must always be vented to the outdoors.8. To reduce the risk of fire, use only metal ductwork.

9. Use with approved cord-connection kit only only.

1. Never leave surface units unattended at high settings.Boi!evers cause smoking and greasy spiltow;rs that mayignite. Heat oils slowly on low or medium settings.

2. Always turn hood ON when cooking at high heat or whencooking flaming foods.

3. Clear_ ventilating fans frequently. Grease should not beallowed to accumulate on fan or filter.

4, Use proper pan size. Always use cookware appropriatefor the size of the sudace element. 2

B, The fire is small and contained in the area where itstarted.

C. The fire department is being c_lled.D, You can fight the fire with your back to an exit.

CAUTION

1. For general ventilating use only. Do not use to exhausthazardous or explosive materials and vapors,

2. To avoid motor bearing damage and noisy and/orunbalanced impellers, keep d_wall spray, construction dust,etc. off power unit.

3. For best capture of cooking impurities, your range hoodshould be mounted so that the top of the hood is 24-30"above the cooking surface.

4. Use only with range hood cord-connection kits that havebeen investigated arid found acceptable for use with thismodel range hood.

5. Please read specification tabel on product for furtherinformation and requirements,

if hood is to be installed Non-Dueled:• Purchase a set of (2) non-ducted filters from your

local distributor or retailer and attach them to thealuminum mesh _ilters.

Fan and Lights

3 push button switches for each. Push any button to select one of 3 fan speeds orone of 3 light levels. Push the same button to turn fan or lightoff. Press anotherbutton to change fan speed or light level. A light above each fan button indicatesthe fan speed.

Heat Sentry

"Yourrange hood is equipped with the Heat Sentry feature, which monitors tern-perature. The Heat Sentry will automatically turn the fan on at its highest speedwhen the temperature is above normal.

1) If a fan setting is selected when the Heat Sentry in on, the light above the fanbutton will flash on and off.

2) If the fan setting is off when the Heat Sentry is on, the light above fan button 3wilt flash on and off rapidly.

After the temperature has lowered to normal, the fan will change to the settingprior to the Heat Sentry turning on.

Fuse

The hood control contains a fuse to protect it from power surges. If the fuse hasopened (blown), the green fan-level indicators wilt operate properly when the fanbuttons/switches are pressed - but the fan and lights wilt not turn on.

The fuse is a 5 x 20 ram, 10 Amp, Fast-Acting, 125V (min,). Common manufac-turer and part numbers are: Littlefuse, 2 ! 7010; Bussmann, GMAIOA; Wickmann,1942100. Radio Shack, Digikey (1-800-344-4539), and most electronic supplystores have them in stock.

To replace the fuse:1. Disconnect power at service entrance.2. Remove fi ters, bottom panel, light wire harness, and air chute.3. Remove and inspect fuse, If it is not open (b!own), additional diagnostics

need to be done.4. tnsta}l newfuse.5. Re-assemble air chule, light wire harness, bottom panel, and filters.6. Turn on power and check hood/control operation,

Cyclonic Action

7he Cyclonic feature directs air from the froilt ofthe hood, back into the main ducted air stream -dramatically improving capture efficiency andducting effectiveness. This means that heat,steam, odors and grease from cooking are con-tained and recirculated for better filtration andrange hood operation,

When the range hood is on, air is released fromthe small openings under the front of the hood.The air is directed toward the rear of the hood toc_'eatea low-pressure area which draws and di-rects heat, steam, odors and grease into theexhaust air stream and through the filters.

In the non-ducted mode, the maiority of the ex-haust air is recycled, allowing for more positivefiltration and containment of the heat, odors, andgrease_

In the ducted mode, a percentage of the air Isrecirculated, to improve the capture efficiency and removal of heat, smoke, odors,and grease from the cooking area.

While this feature is designed for most installations, the effectiveness is affectedby the amount of make-up air, cross air currents, and the amount of static pres-sure generated by the particular installation, i.e. length of duct run, elbows, etc.

In the ,qon-ducted mode, the most effective operation is achieved at speeds t and2. These speeds provide the most efficient and quiet ope[ation during cooking_while maximizing [he benefits of the recircutating filtration system,

Aluminum mesh filters

Clean frequently using hot water and a miJddetergent or in your dishwasher. The aJumi-num mesh filters should be washed approxi-mately every month depending on theamount of usage, Wash more often if yourcooking styie generates greater grease- iikefrying foods or wok cooking.

Non-ducted filters (Clean Cockinghoods only)(avaitabfe separately - see page 4)

Clean filter surfaces frequenlly with a dampcloth and a mild detergent. DO NOT im-merse filters in water or put in dishwasher.The special "Clean Sense' feature indicateswhen the filter is to be replaced. The blueand yellow strips will blend to green when itis time to change the filter. The "Clean Sense"feature works best when facing toward thecooking surface.

Painted hood surfaces

Wiping regularly with mild soap/detergentand warm water should protect painted hoodsurfaces. Be cautious about using "New andImproved" cleaning agents. Your hood is in.-stalled over hot cooking equipment. Mostchemicals found i_ cleaning agents reactwith hea_ to iooseP, paint.

Stainless steel hood surfaces

Stainless sleet noods should be washedregularly with a c!ean cIo[h, warm water" andmild soap or dish detergent. Clean }n the di-rection of the polish !i.qes 'Rinse weil wi_hclear water and wipe dry immediately Youmay wish to apply light oil used for furniturepolishing to emphasize it's bright finish.

Teflon ®hood surfaces

Do not use abrasi,ze c!oth, s_,eeiwout .oads,or scouring powder on the Te[ion_'_-,;oatedbottom cover or on any pair;tsd .surface.

Fan assembly

_-_1 To accomodate off-center ductwork, the Damper/Duct Connector can be installed up to 1-inch oneither side of hood center or the 7" Round DuctPlate can be installed up to W' on either side ofhood center. In extreme off-center installations,one end of the duct connector may need to betrimmed to clear the electrical cable clamp.

10. Non-Ducted Installations Only: Require a PerfqrmanceRing to be attached to the blower wheel.

To install ring:

1. Remove the Blower Wheel by rocking it side to sideand applying a slight force to pull wheel from motor.Remove Retaining Ring if necessary,

2, Slide the ring onto the Small Diameter End of thewheel and down to the Stop Edge of the wheel.

3. Reassemble wheel to motor. Make sure _Tabonwheel fits into one of the Motor Slots.

5.Push wheel down until it is locked in place.

Check that wheel is properly positioned as shown,Press Sections into place if necessary, Make surewheel turns freely.

2. Replace bottom cover.

3. Connect ductwork to hood. Use Duct TaPe to makejoints secure and air tight.

4. Install (2) PAR20, 50 W Maximum Halogen Bulbs or(2) R16, 40 W Maximum Incandescent Bulbs.Purchase bulbs separately.

Para instalar el anillo:

1. Saque la rueda del soplador moviendota de lado a ladoy aplicnado una fuerza leve para separar la rueda de!motor, Quite el anillo de retencibn en caso de necesidad.

2. Deslice el anitlo dentro del extremo de diz_metro_q_ de la rueda y hacia abajo, hacia el borde de re-tencion de la rueda.

3. Vuetva montar la rueda en el motor. Asegurese de que laaleta de la rueda quede dentro de una de las ranurasde! motor.

4. Empuje la rueda hacia abajo hasta que quede fija en sulugar.

5. Verifique que la reda este colocada adecuadamente, comose mustra. Presione las secciones en su lagar, si es nec-esario. Asugt_rese de que la rueda gire libremente.
