RESULTS CLASS XII: AISSCE 2020-21

The students of Cambridge School, Noida brought laurels to the school yet again by their stellar

performance in the CBSE class XII results, 2021. The school topper Amrita Behura made us proud by

securing 99.8% an achievement which is indeed very commendable.

In Science stream Saurabh Mahapatra topped with 98.2%. In Humanities stream, the topper is Jyotika

Tomar having scored 99.2%, while in Commerce stream, the topper is Amrita Behura who scored 99.8%.

In English, Sanvi Chopra, Meghna Nair and Amrita Behura scored a perfect 100. In Legal Studies, Jyotika

Tomar scored 100 marks. In Psychology and History, Vanshika Yadav scored a perfect hundred.

In Economics, Sanvi Chopra, Khushi Karira, Selina Varshney, Meghna Nair and Amrita Behura scored 100

marks. In Mathematics, Amrita Behura and Nikita Medhi scored 100. In Computer Science, Saurabh

Mahapatra scored 100 marks. In Geography, Biology and Entrepreneurship the highest was 99.

In Informatics Practices the highest score was 97. In Painting and Physics the highest score was 98.

A total of 176 students took the CBSE class XII examination this year. The pass percentage is 100%.

Many congratulations to all the students who showed their mettle even in the midst of a pandemic.

The students of Cambridge school, Noida, brought laurels to the school by their spectacular performance in

the CBSE results, 2021.The proud topper of class X is Chahat Mittal who scored 99.4% marks. In English

Harshil Chawla scored 100 marks. In Sanskrit, Chahat Mittal scored a perfect hundred. In Mathematics

(Basic), Antara Majumdar scored 98 marks. In Mathematics (standard), Pratyush Chauhan, Vidhi, Nikita

Shakya, Vanshika Sharma, Sanchari Mohanty, Nirmit Pujari, Arjun Sammi. Harshil Chawla and Chahat

Mittal scored 100 marks. In French, Vrinda Goel achieved hundred percent marks. In Social Science

Chahat Mittal, Vrinda Goel, Akshat Mehra,Jayani Srivastava, Sidhita Chandola, Harshil Chawla and Adit

Narayan scored hundred. In Science, Harshil Chawla, Chahat Mittal, Deven Kumar, Navya Chandra scored

100 marks. In German, Manbir Singh Scored 93 marks. In Hindi Pratyush Chauhan and Anjali Chauhan

scored100 marks. In Information Technology, Harshil Chawla, Chahat Mittal, Vrinda Goel and Pratyush

Chauhan scored 100 marks .A total of 194 students appeared for the examination. 100 students scored

90% and above aggregate marks. The students came out with flying colours and showed their academic

prowess even amidst the pandemic.

ORIENTATION PROGRAMME CLASS XII The Orientation programme for class XII was organised on 3rd July 2021. Around 75 parents attended the

same. The Principal, Ms. Preeti Sangwan addressed the gathering and discussed the current assessment

pattern of class XII for the session 2021-22. She emphasised how continuous assessments of previous

classes is the way to the future and that each class must be taken seriously.

Information on various internships and courses attended by students was shared by Ms. Sunetra Banerjee.

Ms. Deepa Wadhwa moderated the session and elucidated the skills required in the 21st Century. Ms.

Shelly Baveja explained the current assessment pattern and subject wise Theory and Practical weightage.

She also added that Viva Voce will be an important component for all subjects for First Term and Pre-

Board exams. Ms. Mamta Rishi explained the importance of Art Integrated learning which is a compulsory

and essential part of teaching learning process. Ms. Garima shared the activities of Bayaan Club. Ms.

Kavita Thapliyal, Parent speaker motivated the students with her inspiring words and advised them to take

up ownership in learning and accepting challenges.

The session was then open for discussion where parents interacted enthusiastically.

ORIENTATION ON TABULATION POLICY: CLASS XII

An orientation programme was organized with the parents and students of Class XII, 2020-21 on 8th July

2021 to explain the Tabulation Policy released by CBSE for computation of Class XII result. The Principal,

Ms. Preeti Sangwan, Principal addressed the parents and students and explained the basic policy

document. Ms. Sumathy Raghunath discussed the policy in detail using a ppt. Queries of parents and

students regarding the tabulation policy were addressed by the result committee. Ms. Preeti Khanna, Ms.

Deepa Wadhwa, Ms. Sumathy, Ms. Shelly Baweja attended the programme.

ORIENTATION PROGRAMME: CLASS VI

An Orientation programme was organised for the students and parents of Class VI on 17th July 2021.

Around 120 parents and students attended the same. The programme began with a prayer followed by an

address by the Principal, Ms Preeti Sangwan who informed the parents about the changes in the

assessment pattern for class VI. She encouraged the students to practice self-directed learning. This was

followed by a presentation by the Coordinators of VI-VIII, Ms Vasundhara Kaushik and Ms Jennifer De

Castro. Subject Teachers of Mathematics, Science and English briefed the parents and students about

continuous assessment, assessment cycle and components of assessment in their subject respectively.

The special educator, Ms Roomki Mitra apprised the parents and students about the importance of

practising mindfulness and establishing a routine. She guided the parents to continuously encourage their

children to read and have a balanced diet to stay physically and mentally fit in these trying times.

Ms. Bindu Muralidharan informed the parents and students about ATL and the various activities that are

being conducted in the classes.

After the presentation, there was an interaction with the parents and students, in which their queries were

answered by the Principal and the Coordinators.

COUNSELLING SESSION

A counselling session for Class X students was held on 2nd July 2021. The Principal, Ms. Preeti Sangwan

informed the students that self-discipline is the best discipline. She said that exams are not just for scoring

good marks but for checking one’s own knowledge and gaining knowledge has more importance than

getting good grades. Ms. Sangwan advised the students to take every assessment, activity, class work,

portfolio and practicals seriously. This was followed by a counselling session where the counsellor

discussed with the students the importance of nutritious food, sleep and exercise, sharing their feelings and

emotions and reducing screen time. She also informed the students that less concentration happens due to

unhealthy lifestyle. The students were also briefed about the latest examination pattern and marking

scheme.

ENVIROFEST 2021

As July is the ideal month for plantation, the first week of July is observed as Vanmohatsav Week.

Therefore Envirofest- A fest of inter section activities are conducted every year to generate awareness.

This year too, inter section activities were organized along with Inter Cambridge School Panel Discussion.

1) DESIGNING A MINI ECOSYSTEM (CLASS VI): Ecosystem Restoration was the theme of World

Environment Day 2021 and UN has declared the entire decade for Ecosystem Restoration. Hence,

knowing about various types of ecosystems and its restoration is very important. In this activity,

students designed their ecosystem in the digital platform complete with labelling and giving it a suitable

title. The activity was held on 2nd July 2021 and the result was declared on 6th July 2021 during the main

programme when the best three were showcased.

2) PHOTOGRAPHY: SHADOWS AND REFLECTIONS (CLASS VII)- The aim of the activity was to

capture nature’s beauty through shadows, optical illusions and other natural phenomena. Students

submitted the photographs on 2nd July 2021 and the result was declared on 6th July 2021 during the

main programme when the best three were showcased.

3) PHOTOGRAPHY: BIODIVERSITY (CLASS VIII)- Biodiversity is an important component of nature. In

order to appreciate, respect and protect biodiversity, inter-section Photography on Biodiversity was

organized. Students participated in it enthusiastically. Students submitted the photographs on 2nd July

2021 and the results were declared on 6th July 2021 during the main programme when the best three

were showcased.

4) DESIGNING DEVICES TO SOLVE CONTEMPORARY PROBLEMS (CLASS IX)

Students were given fifteen days to prepare Videos/PPTs/ Simulations for the activity which was

judged on 2ndJuly2021. Creativity and design thinking are the 21st century skills which are important for

innovations towards sustainable development. The activity was formulated to tinker this concept. The

result was declared on 6th July 2021 during the main programme and the best three were showcased.

5) INTER – CAMBRIDGE SCHOOL PANEL DISCUSSION (CLASS XI AND XII)

The Panel Discussion was organized live on Zoom platform on 6th July 2021 which was streamed live on

Facebook. It was moderated by Ms. Avantika Goswami, Deputy Programme Manager, Climate Change and

Renewable Energy, Centre for Science and Environment (CSE), New Delhi. The panel members from each

school were as follows:

1.Saumya Tiwari from Cambridge School, Indirapuram.

2. Aabshar Saman from Cambridge School, Srinivaspuri.

3. Shyla Srivastav from Cambridge School, Greater Noida.

4. Ayanna Chanda from Cambridge School, Noida.

The topic of the discussion was Cambridge School for Climate Action, where students expressed their

views on the factors responsible for climate change, social, economic and health impacts of climate change

on human populations and role of schools and individuals to avoid climate change.

MUSIC CONCERT: CLASS XII On 23rd July21, the ADM Department organised a Music Concert for the students of Class XII. Around 135

students, parents and teachers attended the programme which showcased the talents of children who

participated in various events such as, dance, music, instrumental music and recitation.

The programme was well-appreciated by the audience. Towards the end there were some special

performances by teachers and parents.

MUSIC CONCERT: CLASS XI

On 30th July 21, the ADM Department organised a Music Concert for the students of Class XI. Around 135

students, the Principal, Ms. Preeti Sangwan, teachers and parents attended the programme. The children

showcased their talents in various events such as dance, music, instrumental music and self-

composed poem recitation.

The programme was well-appreciated by the audience. The programme concluded with a melodious song

by a student's mother who was accompanied by her daughter on the tabla.

BAYAAN- ORIENTATION SESSION

The school’s first student-led club BAYAAN, organised an orientation session for its members of classes

XI and XII on 24th July 21. The purpose was to apprise the new members about the functioning of the

club. The programme was graced by the Principal, Ms. Preeti Sangwan and the School Counsellor who is

also the club’s mentor- Ms. Garima Seth.

A video encapsulating Bayaan’s vision, aim and feats was shown to the audience. Thereafter, Principal

Ms. Preeti Sangwan addressed the students and motivated them to unabashedly be who they are and

stand for what they believe in. Ms. Garima Seth also interacted with the members and encouraged them to

have important conversations in a healthy and respectful manner.

As an ice-breaker activity, the members had to talk about a character (from a book, show or movie) to

whom they could relate to and discuss issues they felt needed to be discussed on the platform that

Bayaan provides. These prompts saw a diversity of meaningful responses. Everyone participated with

great zeal and enthusiasm. This was followed by a question-and-answer round, wherein the floor was kept

open for any queries or doubts that the students wanted to be addressed. The session came to an end

with Chahat Bhanot proposing the vote of thanks.

INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL PROGRAMME JULY 2021

Under the aegis of the Generation Global Programme, students from classes IX to XII are actively engaged

in an exciting Dialogue Series project. The project is an opportunity for the children to learn about the global

issues linked with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDG). Throughout the month the

students participated in many videoconferences and completed different SDG activities and modules. Each

videoconference had students from minimum three and maximum seven countries. The children had very

useful and interesting discussions with their peers in the United Kingdom, USA, Italy, Pakistan, UAE, Qatar,

Indonesia, Bangladesh, Japan, Philippines, Ecuador, Mexico, Egypt and India.

On 6th July 2021, Ms. Anubha Rawat participated in a teachers’ interactive forum, to reflect on the various

features of the Generation Global forum for students.

Ms. Anubha Rawat attended ‘SkillCon: Educators’ Conclave on Promoting Skilling in Schools’ on 8th July

2021, organized by CBSE and Goethe- Max Mueller Bhavan, Delhi. Ms. Isabell Jenninger, Mr. Thomas

Godel, representatives from Indo-German Chamber of Commerce (IGCC) Max Mueller Bhavan and CBSE

addressed the participants on the collaborative efforts that CBSE is planning to undertake with ‘Goethe

Institut’, for promoting skill education in schools.

On 23rd July 2021, Ms. Anubha Rawat attended a webinar organized by UNESCO on Fostering Equitable

Partnerships for Mutual Learning. The webinar focused on the new and existing structural vulnerabilities of

education, differential impacts on learning and the need to build more inclusive and resilient arrangements

for education and learning at all levels. Ms Anubha Rawat attended a symposium organised by UNESCO

on 28th July 2021. The education experts elaborated on ‘Aligning Education Targets: Benchmarks for

Sustainable Development Goal 4- Quality Education’.

WORKSHOPS AND SEMINARS FOR STUDENTS

EGMA 2.0

Empowering with General and Mental Aptitude classes, for IX-X commenced on 3rd July 2021. This

programme aims to develop the mental aptitude of students and strengthen their logical and analytical

skills. In the second year of EGMA programme, developing the linguistic skills of the students has also

been included. This programme has been offered to 50 students who have secured more than 80%

aggregate and aim for various competitive exams like NTSE and other Olympiads.

The first introductory session was held on 3rdJuly 2021 from 8.30am to 10.45am and was attended by the

students of class IX and X through Microsoft Teams. The session began with the Principal, Ms. Preeti

Sangwan who motivated the students with her encouraging words. Mathematical tips and tricks were taught

by the Mathematics teacher, Ms. Preeti Ghai followed by Linguistic skills by Ms Latika Joshi, HOD English.

Both the sessions were very engaging, and the students participated with great enthusiasm. The students

expressed their gratitude to the school authorities for coming up with such a wonderful concept.

INTERNSHIP AND ONLINE COURSE PROGRAMME: CLASSES XI AND XII

The Internship programmes commenced on 20th May 2021 and the duration varied as per individual

courses and internships. Some were for few days while others were for a couple of weeks and even

months. Courses were generally self-paced.

Humanities Stream

Most of the courses were self-paced spread over a period of 4-5 weeks. Students gave a positive feedback

about the courses they had signed up for. Majority of the students opted for internships in Aashman

Foundation and Fortis School Summer Health Program (Psychology). They thoroughly enjoyed gaining a

deeper insight into various branches of Psychology while others in general felt that it was a joyful learning

experience.

Science Stream

The courses in science ranged from in-depth study of topics to beginner level courses which included study

of Science subjects to Computer Science skills which are in great demand.

Courses in Biology helped students understand human neuroanatomy and neuronal communication. This

information will enable students to understand how we perceive the outside world, move our bodies

voluntarily, stay alive, and interact with others.

Chemistry enthusiasts learnt about some basics in Forensic Science. The course helped students to

understand scientific principles and techniques behind the work of forensic scientists which was illustrated

with numerous case studies from Singapore and around the world. High level courses about sustainable

energy utilization and drug development were also introduced to the students.

Students attended numerous courses in Computer Sciences ranging from full stack programming to

blockchain technology which prepares one to become a valuable part in the billion-dollar industry of artificial

intelligence and data science.

Courses in Physics helped students explore the concepts of Particle Physics, Astrobiology and Black

Holes. They covered main areas and topics between Philosophy and Sciences, from dark energy to dark

matter, anthropoid reasoning, properties of atomic nuclei, detection and measurement of their properties,

electromagnetic interactions and its applications, Higgs boson and search for new particles.

Students were introduced to the concept of mathematical thinking along with beginner courses for

understanding differentiation and integration.

Commerce Stream

Students attended courses based on Finance and Business Studies such as Principles of Sustainable

Finance and Innovation Management offered by Erasmus University on Coursera. Digital Marketing,

Blockchain for Business, Python for Financial Analysis, Algorithmic Trading offered by Udemy as well as

some vocational courses like Microsoft excel: Beginner to advance level, How to write an essay, English for

career development, Shakespeare Matters, Design thinking and communication were attended by the

students.

THEATRE IN EDUCATION: HINDI

On 29th July 2021, a part of the book Apoorva Anubhav by Tetsuko Kuroyangi was staged online by class

VII students under the Theatre in Education programme. Students from all sections of class VII

participated enthusiastically. Dr. Kalyani Roy, Secretary, SAE, Principal, Cambridge School, Noida, Ms.

Preeti Sangwan, teachers from the Hindi department of other branches of Cambridge School were also

present. The Principal appreciated the presentation of the students and encouraged the students to draw

inspiration from the life of Totto Chan. Dr. Kalyani Roy appreciated the presentation of the students and

inspired them to do such programmes in future also.

ROLE OF SOCIAL MEDIA IN COOPERATIVES

Webinars on Role of Social Media in Cooperatives are being organized at the National Level by NCUI

(NATIONAL COOPERATIVES UNION OF INDIA). The second such webinar was organized on 9th July

2021. It was also telecast on FB live. There were four Panelists who addressed the members and the

dignitaries from various Cooperative sectors across India. The Panelists were Mr. Shreyas Nagarkar- Head

of Corporate Communication, Saraswat Cooperative Bank, Mr. Harikrsihnan R- CIO of ULCCS, Mr. Vinit

Koppikar- DM Marketing and Communication SPC Bank, Ms. Sumathy Raghunath PGT Commerce

Cambridge School Noida.

The panelists addressed specific steps taken by their respective organization for expanding their business

through social media. Ms. Sumathy Raghunath with the help of a PPT emphasized the role of social media

and what considerations need to be kept in mind before choosing a media. She also addressed the role of

government in introducing Digi-India Movement and how it will benefit farmers and credit cooperatives.

The webinar was attended by Ms. Preeti Sharma and 30 students of Class XI Commerce and Humanities

group. Saniya Darbari and Jayant Tomar of XI A and Ishi Pandey and Divyanshi Bhatt of XI E helped Ms.

Sumathy Raghunath with the presentation. The Assistant Director of NCUI Mr. Yadav and other panelist

appreciated the presentation as well as the questions posed by the students. It was an enriching and

educative seminar.

BOOK PRESENTATION PROGRAMME

BIOLOGY DEPARTMENT

A book review session was conducted by Ms. Susmita Dey and Ms. Kiran Sibal on 2nd July 2021, which

was attended by more than 45 teachers from Cambridge Group of Schools and Mr. Vikram Roy from the

management. Ms. Susmita Dey presented the book, The Gene Machine, authored by Mr. Venki

Ramakrishnan. The book tells the story of the race to uncover the ribosome's enormously complex

structure, a fundamental breakthrough that resolves an ancient mystery of life itself that could lead to the

development of better antibiotics. It also presents Ramakrishnan's unlikely journey from his first fumbling

experiments in a Biology lab to being at the centre of a fierce competition at the cutting edge of modern

science.

The book presented by Ms. Kiran Sibal was a medical thriller, How We Live, by Sherwin B. Nuland, a best-

selling author of National Award-winning Books. This wonderful, lucid book explores the body's mysterious

capacities to marshal disparate organs and processes in the interest of survival illustrated with gripping

medical case histories. The presentation was well appreciated by the attendees.

CHEMISTRY DEPARTMENT

A book reading session was conducted online in the Zoom platform by the Chemistry Department on July

9, 2021. Ms. Mamta Rishi presented the book Seven Elements That Have Changed the World by John

Browne, Ms. Arpita Paul presented The Periodic Table by Primo Levi and Ms. Ayesha Khan presented

The Disappearing Spoon by Sam Kean. The session was attended by Mr. Vikram Roy, Ms. Puneeta

Malhotra Academic Advisor, SAE, the teachers of sister schools and Cambridge School Noida.

While presenting the book Seven Elements That Have Changed the World, Ms. Mamta Rishi discussed

how iron, carbon, gold, silver, uranium, titanium and silicon have stood out as having most powerfully

changed the course of human history and the impact these elements have had on civilisation, power gained

by the application of these elements in various fields.

While discussing the book, The Periodic Table, Ms. Arpita Paul shared short stories behind the discovery

of elements like Titanium, Aluminium, Cerium, Hydrogen, and so on. Some stories depicted the struggles

whereas some had fun, experimental elements of scientists involved in its discovery.

Ms. Ayesha Khan started the session by showing a video of a spoon disappearing in a glass of gallium

solution. Many interesting stories about the elements and how they have influenced our lives was

discussed. All the three books arrived at a conclusion that discoveries have two sides-good and bad. How

we utilise these discoveries decides the fate of the mankind. All the three presenters kept the audience

engaged. It was an enlightening and enriching session.

SCIENCE DEPARTMENT

An in-depth analysis of the book How to Avoid a Climate Disaster by Bill Gates was presented jointly by

Ms. Susmita Dey and Ms. Nishtha Agarwal on 16th July 2021, which was attended by more than 45

teachers from Cambridge Group of Schools, Dr Kalyani Roy and Mr. Vikram Roy from the management.

In the book, Gates analyses the anthropogenic factors responsible for the emission of greenhouse gases

causing climate change. Mr. Bill Gates emphasized the government's role in funding for research and

development towards innovation in clean energy, agriculture, energy storage, etc.

In a nutshell, the book generates awareness about factors responsible for climate change, solutions,

governments and our role as conscious citizens and consumers. Mentimeter for audience poll and padlet to

receive feedback of book were used to engage the audience. The presentation was well appreciated by the

attendees.

COMMERCE DEPARTMENT

Two books Good Strategy Bad Strategy written by Richar Rumelt, presented by Ms. Sumathy Raghunath

and The Innovators by Walter Issacson discussed by Ms. Preeti Sharma were part of the book

presentation by the Commerce department on 16th July 2021. The presentation was very well appreciated

by all. The takeaway of this session was to work out a good strategy and bring innovative methods in

teaching learning process especially in post pandemic session to improve the overall academics of the

school.

RADIO DRAMA BY ADM DEPARTMENT

On 3rd July21, the ADM Department of Cambridge School, Noida, Indirapuram and Greater Noida

presented a radio drama at Cambridge School, Noida campus, titled Mahamari ka Ant, which was a satire

on COVID vaccination.

Dr. Roy, Secretary, SAE and Manager, Cambridge School, Noida, Ms. Preeti Sangwan, Principal,

Cambridge School, Noida, Ms. Isha Sood, Vice Principal, Cambridge School, Indirapuram, Ms. Bindu

Gupta and teachers of Cambridge School, Greater Noida graced the occasion. Ms. Ranjita Mitra of

Cambridge School, Greater Noida sang a self-composed rap. The play, written, directed and enacted by

the teachers, was well accepted by the audience. Overall, it was a very entertaining session, enjoyed by all.
