Every inertial navigation system (INS) is calibrated to traceable national standards before it leaves the building.

The calibration certificate that accompanies each delivery gives you peace-of-mind that all measurements you see andrecord with the INS can, therefore, be trusted.

>> Why it’s important to re-calibrate inertial sensorsOvertime, inertial sensors could degrade in performance as accelerometers and gyroscopes can become misaligned when used in highly dynamic conditions. Our experience in measuring inertial navigation tells us that inertial sensors require calibration on average every two years to ensure optimum performance and guarantee the level of accuracy they’re capable of outputting.

Re-calibrating your product renews the ability to use its measurements as traceable, national standards of accuracy.

>> OxTS calibration services include:• Calibration of accelerometers and gyroscopes to traceable, national standards.• A pre-calibration assessment to inform you of the variation in sensor accuracy since the previous calibration• A calibration certificate including acceleration and angular rate measurements and uncertainties• Full Quality Management processing, externally audited to ISO 17025 standards.• Accreditation from the United Kingdom Accreditation Service, a national body for the accreditation of testing and calibration facilities.• Pricing options to suit a number of product and calibration service options

Some inertial sensors can age beyond the ISO 17025 standard. In this case, we can provide a ‘Standard Calibration Service’, which involves all of the same processes required for ISO 17025, without the ISO certificate. A ‘Standard’ OxTS calibration certificate is available in this case.

Calibrations can take up to two weeks to process (including shipping). It is recommended that you book your calibration with us in advance. Please contact your OxTS sales representative for more information.

>> Pricing Discounts will apply to customers with a valid OxTS maintenance agreement for their product. Contact your OxTS sales representative for more information.
