A QUIET stretch in Bedok Reser-voir Road has been transformedin recent years into a row of pri-vate condos housing more than2,300 units.
The new developments havehelped to raise home-buyer inter-est for the entire area, said MrAlan Cheong, Savills Singapore’shead of research.
Four condos in the Waterfrontcollection developed by Far EastOrganization and Frasers Cen-trepoint dominate the strip.
The 405-unit WaterfrontWaves, ready last year, was thefirst to be completed.
The 437-unit Waterfront Keyand 361-unit Waterfront Gold arefully sold and due to be complet-ed in the next couple of years.
Farther down the road is UOLGroup’s Archipelago, which waslaunched in December.
About 485 flats have been soldat the 577-unit project. It waslaunched at a median price of
about $1,118 psf, slightly pricierthan Waterfront Isle, which waslaunched in January last year at amedian price of $980 psf.
Waterfront Key, launched in2009, was sold for a median priceof about $734 psf. A year later,Waterfront Gold went for a medi-

are separated from the reservoirby a road, most of the units haveunblocked water-facing views, es-pecially those on the higherfloors, but some apartments atthe lower-rise Archipelago maynot enjoy the same view.
Older condos nearby are re-cording higher median resale pric-es. For instance, Aquarius by thePark had a median price of $864psf in the second quarter of this
year, on $799 psf a year earlier,said Mr Lee Sze Teck, Dennis WeeGroup’s senior manager of train-ing, research and consultancy.
There is no MRT station atBedok Reservoir yet but that willchange in 2017 when the newDowntown Line opens. The
spruced-up reservoir park will al-so add to the area’s appeal, withan outdoor adventure centre andrestaurant.

for its design, patio and reservoirview.
“I was looking for a new condoin the east, and wanted a waterview. But those in East Coast weretoo expensive,” said the bankproject manager.
