2014 was a busy year in Waunakee! Though at timeschallenging, the Main Street construction and beautificationproject is complete and Waunakee is once again on themap! New businesses have opened and several long timebusinesses have completed or have plans in the works toupgrade their facades. Driving down our newly paved MainStreet in the evening with the snowflakes on the light postsis truly a beautiful sight.

For some, 2014 included closures, relocation, and loss. Aswe count our many blessings this Season, we want toremember those that have left us, our sincere wishes fornew beginnings, healing and peace go out to you and yourfamilies. The chamber said good bye to 9 businesses for

ORCHID AWARD This award is presented to a Chamber Member business whocompleted a substantial development and/or redevelopment facadebuilding project within the last year contributing to the promotion ofcommerce, economic development, and the overall beautification of theWaunakee/Westport area. Dean Clinic was the 2014 recipient. This isthe 23nd year for the award.

YOUNG PROFESSIONAL AWARDThe Waunakee Area Chamber honors an emerging leader in theChamber within the community who strive toward the highest levels ofpersonal and professional accomplishment, who excel in their chosenfield, devote time and energy to the Chamber business community andthe community as a whole in a meaningful way. This young businessperson serves as a role model to professionals between the ages of 25­40. Troy Salisbury of State Farm was the 2014 recipient and will bechairing the Young Professionals Committee.
