Byron Georgiou has had a long career in the private and public sector in business, law andgovernment service.

One of 10 members appointed nationwide in 2009 to the Financial Crisis InquiryCommission, Byron and his fellow commissioners spent more than 18 months examiningthe causes of the financial crisis. The Commission and its staff of 50 held 19 days ofnationally televised public hearings, interviewed more than 700 witnesses and reviewedmillions of pages of documents, culminating in the Financial Crisis Inquiry Reportsubmitted to the President and Congress in January 201l.

Since 2000, he has been Of Counsel to thenational law firm of Robbins, Geller, Rudman & Dowd, www.rgrdlaw.com. the world's largest plaintiffs' securities practice,and has spent much of the last decade investigating and civilly prosecuting financial fraud, with leadership roles in thehistoric litigations on behalf of victimized investors at Enron, WorldCom, Dynegy, AOL/Time Warner and UnitedHealth.

In 2010, he was elected to serve on the Executive Board of the Nevada State Democratic Party, is a founding member ofthe Clark County Democratic Black Caucus and the Clark County Hispanic Democratic Caucus, and a member of theAsian-American Democratic Caucus.

In September 2009, Byron was one of a ten member delegation to China co-sponsored by the Washington think tank, theCenter for American Progress, and the Hong Kong-based US-China Exchange Foundation, holding a week of high-levelmeetings in Beijing and Tianjin with top Chinese political, military and academic leaders. The delegation included, amongothers, John Podesta, former Chief of Staff to President Clinton and Chair of President Obama's transition team; TomDaschle, former Senate Majority Leader; Andy Stern, former President of the Service Employees International Union; andPenny Pritzker, finance chair of President Obama's 2008 campaign.
