It is the responsibilityof the permitted to obtain the required inspections. Failure to notify this department that the work is ready for inspection may necessitate theremoval of some of the contruction materials at the Owner's expense in order to perform such inspection. Per the request of Alternative Power Enterprises, McMillonEngineering LLC reviewed the proposed (10) Solar Panel inducedroof loads for the Roth Residence at 444 W. Columbia inTelluride, CO.
The (10) LG Neon 360w PV panels with mounting system will add anapproximate 4 lbs per square foot on the south aspect shed roof.These black_and slippery PV panels on a 7:12 pitched roof willmelt and shed snow rapidly, more than making up for theadditional panel load. The 2x12 framed shed roof structure asdesigned and constructed to support a minimum snow load of 75lbs/ft is adequate to support all anticipated panel loading.

This report is in response to questions brought up by the Telluride Building Department duringframing review. The framing was not observed by the Structural Engineer.
1. Holes in LVLbeams. Holes located 12 inch O.C. and 4” clear from the bottom of the LVLbeams (1” diameter) are acceptable.
2. 2 x 6 bracing not needed it ends are sheathed.3. Ledger (Let-in) may be attached with (1) SDS screw and (3) 16D nails.
The installation/hold down requirements for the sunroom have not been reviewed at this time.
