The institute is approved by All India Council for Technical Education, New Delhi and is
affiliated to the North Maharashtra University, Jalgaon (accredited 4-star status by
NAAC, Bangalore). The institute has been accorded a status of Minority (Gujrathi
Linguistic) by the Government of Maharashtra. RCPIT is also recognized under UGC
Section 2[f] & 12[B]. The institute is accredited by Tata Consultancy Services and is
awarded by WIPRO as 'Best College in Western Region'

needs. And each of the course modules encompasses a host of subjects pertinent to
the respective fields.

Genesis of RCPITR. C. Patel Institute of Technology was set up as a part of the self-powered plans of Shirpur Education
Society in 2001 with the objective to erect a truly world class institute in the rural part where students
from the vicinity would be benefited from the services that matched global standards. RCPIT was
conceived by Hon. Shri. Amrishbhai R. Patel, former cabinet minister for School Education, Sports and
Youth Welfare for Maharashtra State. The institute has grown at a remarkable pace and has gone on to
become an institute of repute within the country. It is spread over 30.6 acres of lush green land providing
an ambience congenial to the pursuit of high quality technical education. Every single detail of the
institute has been implemented at par with global standards in accordance to the norms of AICTE, New
Delhi. The strength of RCPIT lies in its state of the art Laboratories, IIT virtual Classrooms & Laboratories,
Digital Library, and an advanced Workshop.

Computer CenterA modern computer center occupying an area of 300 sq. mtr. serves as a central facility for
all the departments. Center comprises of a server room having eight servers, four servers
for data base, a Web server, a Linux server, Library server and a Domain Name server. All the
terminals in the center and computer Labs are connected through high speed networking
with Lucent Technology and 3-COM switches and are certified by AVAYA, a US based
company. A Firewall unit also exists for monitoring and controlling network traffic. All the
terminals are provided with Internet connectivity by Leased Line with a capacity of 72
Mbps with 1:1. Apart from all licensed softwares including Microsoft Campus Agreement,
the center is also equipped with visual aids like LCD projectors, Colour printers, Scanners,
Digital webcam etc.

to include mandatory library hours in the time table so that students spend quality time in
the company of books and recent technical journals. The institute's central library covers a
ground area of about 612 sq. mtr. with a seating capacity of 375. The interior of the library
is well furnished with ergonomically designed seating arrangements. The library is divided
into; 170 sqmtr. reading zone , 325 sq. mtr. stacking area and 117 sq. mtr. issuing area.
The library is self-sufficient to a large extent and covers the courses offered by the institute.
Students can also access journals and magazine through the magazine zone available in
the library. The library is automated with SLIM software and is connected to the main
server to the hostel via Wi-Fi network so that students can access OPAC (Online Public
Access Catalog) through the hostel terminals. Reprographic facility is also made available
to the students and faculty members. The library remains open for the entire duration of
the college timings and provision is also made for 24 hrs access during University
Examinations. The Library is self-sufficient with all the academic requirements and has a
sound collection of National/International, Print and on line Journals, Magazines. Library is
digitalized with NPTEL IIT video lectures, E-Books, E-Journals along with Educational CDs
and CBTs. It also collaborates with IIT Mumbai and possess institutional membership.

various production machines and also introduce them to various trades like fitting,
carpentry, welding, blacksmithy, moulding and casting. The state of the art machine shop
is well equipped with modern all geared lathe machine, shaper, slotter, universal milling
machine, radial drilling machine, surface grinder, fly press etc. The moulding and casting
shop is equipped with coal fired crucible furnace with a sand bed & all moulding
equipments & accessories. The black smithy shop having four hearths, anvils & centralized
blower. Workshop is equipped with a digital universal machine with computer interface
for material testing, CNC lathe and CNC Milling machine is a unique feature of workshop.
