Session 4 : Cost of airport security in AfricaAirport security costs pose a risk to African airports. How to cope with the ever-changing

requirements, the cost of purchasing and maintaining security equipment and the costs of continuous training for human resources certification.

The panel will discuss the current situation of African airports regarding safety and security and will address the upcoming challenges of aviation in Africa. What are the roles and initiatives of civil aviation authorities to improve security and safety in Africa? Is the increase in airport taxes the solution to finance the infrastructure needed to accommodate the forecasts of increasing traffic? Which airport safety and security management models to comply with regulations and ensure value for money? Evolution towards a partnership with the industry?

With the automation of airport processes and the heavy reliance on digital technology, airports need now more than ever to address the challenges of cyber security. The

presentations and following exchanges will present the latest developments and initiate the debate on the measures to be taken to ensure safe and secure airport operations against this growing threat.

First, the payment of the e-visa (73 euros) must be done on the dedicated website (snedai.com/e-visa). Some information must be provided online at that stage. (Passport identity page, attestation of plane ticket reservation, accommodation certificate or invitation letter). Bring a pre authorization copy received by email to get your biometric visa upon arrival at Abidjan airport.Note : The response time required for the an e-visa is at least 48 hours before departure scheduled Côte d’Ivoire.

OPTION 3: Visa on arrivalPlease indicate to the airport of Abidjan (AERIA) your presence at the event, by providing the following documents:▪ A copy of a valid passport (including surname, first name, nationality, passport number, issue date)▪ A copy of the flight indicating your arrival dateAERIA will send a collective VISA letter (NOT-nominative) written by the Territorial Surveillance Office and accompanied by a list of names including yours.
