Here is an overview of lessons to be completed each day. Children will be expected to spend a similar amount of time completing this as they would spend learning in school. Children can send any completed work to teachers via PurpleMash; from the PurpleMash home page, click the Work icon (top of the screen), then use the Upload icon on the right hand side. Alternatively, work that children complete on paper should be kept safe and returned to school when safe to do so.

Lesson 6: To box up a story for a purpose

In this lesson, we will box up the story and explore the moods in each section of the story.

If you want to get really good at something, then it will take time. There no shortcuts. It is all about trying hard and putting in the practice. If you look at anyone successful at anything then they will have worked really hard to get their skills to such a high level. A lot of people don’t like to try hard because they think it is too difficult – and these are the people who are not successful. People who are successful try very hard because they know their work will pay off. They enjoy working hard because they know they get the best out of themselves when they are challenged. To be successful at ANYTHING, you must not give up. People who are successful make mistakes, have bad luck, and are criticised by others – but they keep going and try their best to solve the problems put in front of them. Persevering is having the determination to keep going even when things don’t go well.
