WHAT WE DOKRR Prostream holds the exclusive license for Bang&Clean®in the UK and theRepublic of Ireland, a unique boiler cleaning process, established byBang&Clean® Technologies AG. We also distribute and service Shock PulseGenerators, developed and manufactured by Swiss company ExplosionPower GmbH. These technologies enable you to avoid the financial impactof plant shutdowns and to continue to operate at full capacity.

Bang&Clean®Bang&Clean® is ideal for removing internal foulingfrom boilers and furnaces, allowing you to maintainoptimal efficiency and prevent unplanned shutdowns. The savings when compared to traditionalcleaning methods can be significant. Regularmaintenance cleans can help keep fouling to aminimum. The technology can also be successfullydeployed in pre-shutdown safety cleans.

A lance is introduced into the boiler near thearea to be cleaned.

At the end of the lance a special bag is inflatedwith explosive gas which is ignited remotely.

The resulting shock waves cause vibrations in theboiler.

These vibrations and shock waves dislodge andremove fouling without damage to boiler tubesand infrastructure.

The plant's ash transport system carries away thisfouling for "normal" disposal.

Shock Pulse Generators (SPGs)Shock Pulse Generators (SPGs) set a new bench markin boiler cleaning and are installed to provide apermanent cleaning solution in boilers, particularly ineconomisers, evaporators, empty passes andsuperheaters. They replace other cleaning systems,such as soot blowers, rappers, shot ball and showercleaning. SPG units are flanged to the outside of theboiler and are fully automated. Shock pulses can beactivated from 15 minute intervals to every 24 hoursdepending on the level of fouling. We can alsomonitor the units remotely to ensure optimumperformance. Advantages compared to traditional cleaning systems:

Superior cleaning effect with no tube washing aswith soot blowers.

Have a smaller footprint than sootblowers.

Provide constant cleaning to prevent unplannedoutages due to severe fouling.

By constantly keeping surfaces inside the boilerclean they maximise heat transfer for higherboiler efficiency.

High Temperature Video Cameras (HTVCs)Our camera system allows us to look inside the boilerwhilst the plant is on-load. Our near infrared camerashave various functions enabling them to operate attemperatures of up to 1200°C. Using our camerasystem has the following benefits including:

HPCO2 (High Pressure CO2)HPCO2 is ideal for removing blockages and unwanteddeposits in hoppers, silos and ash pits. It is quick todeploy and is effective on a range of materialsincluding ash, lime, Air Pollution Control residues andlarge items of combustible material. By using CO2which is inert, it is safely deployed in combustibleenvironments to dislodge blockages and deposits. Thetechnology involved is well established and is usedworldwide. Some unique advantages are:

Energy from Waste (EfW)With waste forming a growing part of the UK’s energymix, there is an ever increasing number of EfW plantsprocessing millions of tonnes of waste annually. Theseplants often have issues with fouling due to thecomplex nature of the waste fuel.

Energy from Biomass (EfB)Plants burning virgin and waste wood fuel also havea similar problem with fouling so these facilities oftenneed regular cleaning. KRR ProStream offersBang&Clean® technology services as well as ShockPulse Generators – both of which keep the boilersclean giving solutions for the different problemsarising.

Heat Recovery Steam Generators (HRSGs)Bang&Clean® has proven to be ideal at removing rustand sulphur build up within HRSGs. The shockwavespenetrate into the finned tubes to provide a moreefficient and effective clean compared to othermethods. As the cleaning depth is more extensive, thistechnology also results in a much faster clean whichsignificantly reduces outage periods. Bang&Clean® isideal for use on the cooler heat exchangers whichhave higher rates of fouling.

We help our clientsto follow best environmental practice, either for thepurpose of regulatory compliance or as a componentof their corporate social responsibility. We are equallyproactive when it comes to monitoring and reducingthe environmental impact of our own operations. KRRis involved in local youth charities by providingfinancial support and education about ourtechnology. Our head office in Loseley Park, Surrey, issupplied with energy by solar panels installed on ourbuildings.
