United Way of Ellis County
I am Kelly Lewis, your 2019 United Way Campaign Chair. This
is a title I am truly honored to accept, and I am eager to begin
our campaign. Ellis County is rich in history and is one with
great community values. In times of need, the people of Ellis
County, you, are quick to lend a hand in any way possible. It is
what truly makes this community special.
The United Way was formed in 1953 in an attempt to raise
funds for community support agencies that did not have the ability to do so
themselves. And still to this day that is our mission. With your generous
donation, United Way of Ellis County and its partner agencies will be able to
provide countless opportunities to those in need.
Our 17 partner agencies go through an extensive funding request process
headed by the volunteers on our CARE Council. This council sends their
recommendations to the United Way Board of Directors who then award the
funds to the agencies they select for the year. This process ensures that your
generous gift stays right here in Ellis County and is used in the most effective
way possible. These agencies then provide individuals with unbelievable
opportunities they would not have had without your kind-hearted donation.
The impact your donation has on this community is immeasurable, and for that I
say thank you. Thank you for your unwavering support and for your passion in
making Ellis County special. But most of all, thank you for your ability to come
together and touch so many lives in this community. A community I am blessed
to call home.
“When we give cheerfully and accept gratefully,
everyone is blessed.” - Maya Angelou
Sincerely,
Kelly Lewis
