graduated in architecture with full marks and honors from florence university in 2005, recipient of a fulbright scholarship in 2008, michele zanella was granted the award of excellence by pratt institute (nyc) where he achieved his master’s degree in architecture in 2010 (ms arch - post pro).

bornborn and raised in florence, italy, he lived, studied and worked in china, belgium, austria and the united states.

after a one-year internship at coop himmelb(l)au in vienna, he moved to beijing in 2007 to work at mad archi-tects where he was hired as lead project architect.

in 2008 he moved to new york city where, after completion of his master’s degree, he worked at garrison architects for two years.

He'sHe's currently living in florence, italy, where he moved back in 2011 to proceed with his design activity and to start his professional experience in his home-country, while collaborating at genius loci architettura (milan-florence).

inin 2014 he was selected as a finalist for the figment/enya/seaony ‘city of dreams pavilion’ design com-petition for the realization of a temporary pavilion on nyc governor’s island, with his project ‘galassia’.
