“Ministry News Updates”

Greetings in the Name of Jesus. We appreciate all of you for your ongoing-love, encouragement, and support of BFC. We were again “very busy” in the month of July with some exciting outreaches.

First stop was North Carolina. The chapters there already had some exciting things planned. And the Lord opened another door through a

cool new friend in Cal i forn ia, David Lyons. David set me up to go on TV with a close friend of his, John Rowley on TCT-

WRAY TV. I made some phone calls before I left, and had the pleasure of inviting two dozen BFC friends. Along for the ride was Big Tim - our NE Regional Elder, Pastor Gilbert - host of the event, and Tap - our North Carolina State Elder. We

all rode in together, and even got John Rowley to hop on a bike so he could do the “entrance ride-in” with us. We went into the studio and taped a one hour show with John.

It was really a blessing to be on

the show with my NC brothers and sisters as they shared their testimonies and spoke about the e v e n t s t h e y organize in N.C.

After we le f t the TV station we rode to the Easyrider

Rodeo. While there I was introduced to some of the local MCs, and shared my testimony tracts with quite a few of MC members - and with the attendees of the event.

We had an awesome BFC representation during the entire weekend at the Easyrider Rodeo. Howard and Kevin “Chicken” stayed at the campground and fed breakfast to their neighbors – the MC members and those who showed up for the “party portion” of the event. While

there they had opportunities to pray with folks and answer lots of questions about their faith, and BFC.

One of my friends , Sam Childers “The Machine Gun Preacher” had his vendor trailer set-up at the Rodeo grounds and I was able to visit with Sam and his sweet wife, Lynn. Sam’s testimony is realistically documented in the book “Another Man’s War”. The Hollywood version of “Machine Gun Preacher” is rated “R”, and

takes some Hollywood license – which includes quite a bit of c u s s i n g a n d s e x u a l implications. While it should not be considered a “Christian” movie, it does have many people checking out Sam’s unique and radical ministry: www.machinegunpreacher.org

It was a blessing to spend time with Sam and Lynn as we have a mutual respect for each other’s ministries.

Pastor Gilbert Baker hosts The Good - the Bad - and the Ugly – Biker Church Biker Outreach. They had serious bands and vendors. Gilbert really has a heart for the lost. We took some great rides. On Sunday morning I was able to share at the Rosewood Community Church which was a blessing. I really enjoy ministering at some of the host churches as it’s always a kick. After church we headed for the coast. It was about 100 degrees when we started. About 50 miles out a “torrential rain” started and we were completely drenched in thirty minutes. Then the sun came out at 100 degrees again – we were completely dry in 15

minutes. I feel like the only thing I missed was “the spin cycle and f ab r i c softener ! “ S p e c i a l thanks to Big Tim and P a s t o r G i l b e r t , and his family for their hospitality.

The end of the month Ricky Rockit and I went to Colorado to encourage, and pray-in our newly recognized chapter there. We were also joined by Bruce Pollack, our regional elder and his beautiful wife ,Rhonda. It was a complete honor and a blessing to visit the beautiful state of Colorado.

On Saturday we were joined by a dozen BFC m e m b e r s a n d friends as we rode through some of the most incredible scenery. We rode by this beautiful Catholic church that was built in 1914. It was right on the way to Estes Park, CO. Breath-taking! What a treat. We ended our very long ride at KT’s Famous BBQ in Strausberg – where they serve

the most incredible BBQ meals anyone could imagine.

The owners and service there is top-notch. We

enjoyed visiting with the owners. Kayla and Terry. We ordered the famous “Sampler platters” with: Beef Brisket, Ribs, Chicken and a lot more. I even tried deep-fried pickles. After we gorged ourselves past the point of sanity we rolled off to some evening meetings.

On Sunday we rolled into the COC meeting in full force. God opened the doors for me to share about our ministry, who we are and what we do. We were welcomed by everyone there, and were treated with the utmost respect. We’ll be excited to see what the Lord will do in the beautiful state of Colorado.

One of our highlights in J u l y w a s having t h e B .F.C . F u l l Throttle Band

invited to play during the legendary B.A.D. Ride “Rip’s Bikers Against Diabetes” rally.

We h a d a b l a s t hobnobbing with the following

biker celebrities - CD & Lisa from Quick Throttle magazine, Willie G. and Nancy Davidson, Oliver Shokuh, Emilio and Yadi

Rivera, Rusty and K . O . K o o n e s , Mickey Jones, Steve S h a p i r o , B i l l Kennedy, and many others. I entered both the BFC chopper and the Trike in the bike show.

Willie G. enjoyed meeting our BFC c h o p p e r a legendary-style old s c h o o l H D

chopper. So, I was of course honored that Willie G. thought the bike was really cool.

The legendary “Sugar Bear” was there. He was building bikes in the 60s and 70s while many builders were still in diapers - or high school. He welded springer and girder front ends back then that were amazing!

We hit the stage at about 1:30p.m. and got to play to a large crowd. The audience enjoyed the classic rock and blues music – with our somewhat different lyrics. One legendary old school biker said: “Pastor Z. – I have to apologize, I thought you guys were a little praise band, you guys surprised us all – your band tore it up !”

We played “We won’t get Fooled Again”, “Moby Dick”, “Voodoo

Child/Jesus Child” and more. CD joined us on vocals and many were shocked that a magazine editor could really rock the house with our band. It was awesome !

It was a real blessing to be ministering, as well as raising money for diabetes – all at the same gig. Thank you Lord, and CD & Lisa for opening some cool

doors.
