Support the Production of our Bulletin For quite some time we have been producing our own bulletin al-lowing us to meet the needs of the three languages. If we were to send this bulletin out to be produced, we would have to have one bulletin in English only for everyone and the publications of the Readings in Italian and Spanish would have to come to an end. Help us by Supporting our advertisers and also by placing an ad in our bulletin for a year. Please call the office for more information.

MASS INTENTIONS The central theme of today’s readings is an invitation to repent, do penance and renew our lives instead of carrying the heavy baggage of our sins. Our God is a God who always tries, not to punish, but to rehabilitate sinners, so that we may be made whole and experience inner peace and harmony. To-day’s liturgy celebrates the fact of God’s forgiveness.
The power of forgiveness My brothers and sisters, this weekend the church gives us beautiful readings to meditate on the Mercy and forgiveness of God. In the first read-ing, God who has compassion for everyone, con-vinced David, through the prophet Nathan to rec-ognize and change his life. David recognized his sins, repented, and cried out: “I have sinned against the Lord.” Then Nathan said to Da-vid “The Lord has put away your sins; you shall not die,” David experienced the forgiveness, love and Mercy of the Lord and changed his life. In the Gospel Jesus shows Mercy, compassion and forgiveness to the woman. Jesus said to the wom-an, “Your sins are forgiven.” This woman re-ceived her forgiveness through her actions which demonstrates her sincere repentances. This wom-an tired of her past life decided to change and went to see the One who was able to change her life by the forgiveness of her sins. She was look-ing for forgiveness and she found it. Jesus Christ in the Gospel shows us that it does not matter how grave our sins are, if we ask for forgiveness, He will forgive us. God is always ready to for-give us, the only thing that we need to do is to be ready to ask it, and so my brothers and sisters, let us allow the Lord to renew and change our lives so that we may say like Saint Paul in the second reading, “I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.” (Gal 2:20)
Fr. Josue Vargas
Dear Parishioners, On this weekend I would like to wish you all a day full of blessings and gratitude. I also want to take the opportunity to thank you for your ongo-ing support all these years as we share the com-mon responsibility to run this parish and keep its doors open for ourselves and others. For just one more weekend, we are giving you our 2015 Annual Finance Report which is prepared by the Parish Finance Council. In it you will see a reflection of the blessings and the challenges we face when it comes to running and maintaining our parish in all aspects. Please take a moment of serious analysis so that this week-end we can speak to you during the mass. As usual, our expenses come in the same catego-ries as every other household or business: proper-ty taxes, utilities, insurance, salaries and bene-fits, Office expenses building & grounds re-pairs, building maintenance and the archdioc-esan assessment (15% of our total Sunday of-fertory), etc. You may have noticed in our chart below
that during 2015 our contributions were slightly more than our expenses. We had positive cash flow of $5,252. We hope that you continue to give generously to ensure that we not only cover our operating expenses, but pay off our debt and maintain the church premises in good standing. Please note that the Special Diocesan Collections are forwarded directly to the Archbishop’s offic-es. If you are presently not using envelopes, please consider doing so. A tax receipt is issued for those who make use of the envelopes giving you a chance to increase your contributions and support in the event that you personally don’t want the benefit, but you can do it for the benefit of your church. I thank you for all the support you give to the parish in order to maintain its doors open. Father Josue Vargas Lara Finance Council Chair

Baptism Previous membership in the parish and regular attendance at Sunday (Saturday vigil at 5pm included) Mass will be expected from anyone seeking to baptize a child. Membership includes not only attendance at mass regularly, but the use of offertory envelopes. If you are new to the parish you will be expected to first establish your relationship with our parish. It is time for us at St. Jude’s to expect the same level of commitment that is given by those who seem to always car-ry the responsibilities of our parish community. The gifts of the Church depend on both rights and obligations and personal relation-ship with one’s parish and fair share of the responsibilities is to be expected.
First Communion Photos are now available at the parish office during regular office hours, Monday through Friday 9:00am-5:00pm (closed 12pm –1:00pm ). Please come and pick up your child’s First Communion photo. There is no charge for the “Individual” photograph. Orders however will be taken if anyone is inter-ested in purchasing a group photo. We require $10.00 (cash only) when placing any group photo orders.
Pray for Vocations

If you think God is calling you to be a priest, religious or deacon, contact Fr. Chris Lemieux, Vocation Director, Archdi-ocese of Toronto at 416-968-0997 or email [email protected]

Healing Mass This coming Friday, June 17th we invite our parishioners who are ill to attend our healing mass. The Sac-rament of Anointing
of the Sick will be administered during the mass.
Planning to be a Catholic School Teacher?
It is critical for you to know that to be hired to teach in any Catholic School Board in Ontario as part of your applica-tion for employment there must be a letter of reference from your pastor. If you are planning to apply to teach in a Catholic School, it is highly recommended to con-tact the pastor a year in advance, especially in light of the fact that all universities make this matter known to every student at the beginning of the year. Please plan to have a conversation with your pastor early in the process (not the week before you are submitting your application) and you will avoid disappointment and stress at the time when applications are to be submitted. The following are required at St. Jude’s:
Be (yourself, not your parents or grand
parents) a registered member of the parish
using offertory envelopes (at least 1 year
before the application).
Be in the parish for participation in Sun-
day/Saturday mass for a minimum of 12
months prior to approaching the pastor.
Be involved in some way with your parish.
Make your request 3 months in advance.
Applicant must be the one making the re-
quests. No request will be accepted by a
relative or a parent.
The pastor has to be able to recommend
you and that is only possible if he knows
you at the basic level of regular mass at-
tendance. Personal knowledge of the can-
didate’s faith practice is what the pastor
needs to recommend (not your parents,
grand parents, but yourself as this is a per-
sonal recommendation not a family one.
Do you wish to become a Catholic? Are you:
Non-baptized and have
a desire to learn more
about the Catholic faith with the inten-
tion of converting?
Baptized as a Christian in a different
denomination (religion) and seek full
reception (membership) in the Roman
Catholic Church?
Baptized in the Catholic faith but never
received faith instructions as a child,
made first communion and received
Confirmation?
The Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults
(RCIA) is the place for you.. Every year
adults are welcomed/received/baptized
into the Catholic Community through
RCIA.
If you or someone you know is interested
in the RCIA program please call the parish
office and leave your name and phone
number or pick up an RCIA Inquiry form
at the parish office.
Questions for Reflection:
Did God, through the prophet Nathan, forgive David?
How hard is it for you to forgive wrongs done to you?
How hard is it for you to ask for-giveness?
St. Anthony Feast Day Please join us for a special prayer service on Monday June 13 at Queen of Heaven Cemetery. The service will take place at 2:00pm in the St. Anthony Chapel of the Mausoleum. For further information con-tact the cemetery at 905-851-5822
