At approximately 1:20 p.m., an unknown male entered the Basha’s grocery store located at 3275 North Swan Road. The male approached the Wells Fargo banking center counter, which is located inside the grocery store. He presented a note to the teller, demanding money. He was wearing a handgun in a holster that was clearly visible. After receiving an undisclosed amount of money, the male left the store. No one was injured during the course of the incident. Officers from Operations Division Midtown responded to the bank to initiate the investigation. A short while later, detectives from the Robbery Unit also responded to assist with the investigation. The detectives interviewed the victim teller and witnesses as well as collected evidence at the scene. The suspect was described as a Hispanic male, 28-35 years of age, 5’06” to 5’08” tall, weighing 150 to 190 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a dark gray t-shirt, dark pants, and black tennis shoes. He possibly has numerous tattoos on both arms. Anyone having information about the suspect’s identity or whereabouts is urged to call 911 or 88-Crime. Additionally, anonymous text-based tips can be submitted utilizing the TipSoft program. Photographs obtained from surveillance footage of the incident are included below.
