• Drive implementation of the EHS Policy

• Ensure documentation of the Local EHS Procedures in compliance with the SABMiller EHS Standards and Business / Regulatory Requirements and taking into consideration the risks presented by Site operations

• Recommend and obtain approval for appropriate organizational resources to implement the EHS Procedures. Document responsibility and authority at all levels in the organization.

• Draw up and implement an EHS Training Program to support the implementation of EHS Standards & Procedures

• Facilitate use of the EHS procedure in routine business of the Site.

• Draw up and implement a verification program for the implemented standards

• Establish and achieve meaningful objectives and targets

• Identify and employ control systems to minimize EHS impacts

• Review and report on EHS performance and issues routinely Anchor the EHS Management Review

• EHS Reporting as per the SABMiller Reporting Guidelines in the EHS Reporting Database.

• STOP (Unsafe Behavior Observations Tours) - Ensure compliance to the SABMiller Protocol, Quality of interaction and adequacy of closure

• Work Place Inspection (Using Safety Toolkit ) - Ensure compliance to the SABMiller Protocol, Quality of inspection and adequacy of closure . Help SBT / MDTs in understanding of the Safety Toolkit

• EHS Audits – Permit to Work, PPE Compliance, Machinery Guarding, Electrical Isolation, LOTO, Emergency Equipment (First Aid, Eye wash station, Fire equipment access), Ladder safety, Visitor safety Audit, Tanker / Truck Offloading.

• Accident Investigation, Closure – Ensure compliance to the SABMiller Protocol, Quality of investigation and adequacy of closure

• Risk Assessment / Job Safety Analyses - Ensure compliance to the SABMiller Protocol, Quality of inspection and adequacy of closure

• EHS Concern Sheets – Audit , Review Quality of inspection and adequacy of closure

• EHS Training – Drive the EHS training of permanent employee & contractor workmen as per the KPI target taken for the year.

Prevention Procedures

• Drive implementation of the following EHS / ORLP Procedures as the procedure owner - Fire Safety Management - Emergency Response Management

• Implement a Contractor Management Program for the appropriate contractor selection based on contractor safety performance, contractor compliance with SABMiller EHS standards, contractor safety rules and general employee safety rules, monitoring of contractor activities and training / orientation / induction

• Ensure that the Contractor EHS Rules are provided to the Contractors and that the Contractors ensure compliance to these within the HBL Factory Premises.

• Promote safety awareness and communication amongst Contractors.

• Develop and implement an Accident/Incident Management Program to report, investigate, manage and track workplace accidents, incidents, near misses and workplace hazards for Contractors.

• Develop and implement a Hazardous Material Management Program for Contractors to identify, evaluate, track and approve all hazardous materials, communicate hazards, and store, use and dispose hazardous materials safely.

• Contractor EHS Rules – Contractors EHS Rules booklet is reviewed every year

• Liaise with Government Authorities on Matters – Factory inspectorate , Fire Department , Electrical Inspectorate , AERB and the Controller of Explosives

• Arrange to keep up-to-date all consents and Permits related to relevant statutes for safety .

• Support compliance to requirements of other statutes such as the Factory Act & Rules, Boiler Act, Indian Electricity Rules through the concerned functional executives

• Be aware of current National Legislation and maintain standards. Maintain the regulatory compliance register for the HBL Site

EHS Statutory Compliance

• Fire Risk assessment is carried out of the fire hazard associated with operations, processes, materials and ignition sources at the Site. Fire Risk for new plant and equipment is assessed and in case of modifications, existing fire risks are reviewed

• Controls required as identified by the Fire Risk assessment are defined and provided by the installation of physical systems

• Fire Emergency Response Plans are put in place and routinely exercised

• All fire incidents are recorded and investigated. Actions taken to prevent recurrence and learning arising from such incidents are incorporated in the Fire Risk Assessment.

• Physical fire safety systems (both fixed and portable) are routinely inspected, tested and maintained to minimum performance standards

• Close liaison with external emergency bodies such as Fire Brigade and Medical Facilities are maintained

• Regular inspection of work place for fire hazards are carried out so that appropriate preventive measures can be taken
