October 27, 2014 IHS 15 Inverness Way East Englewood, CO 80112 Subject: 2015 BPVC Release & Revision Cycle Valued Partner: Please feel free to inform or remind your customers that the 2015 ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code will be released in the new two-year cycle and will be available in the summer of 2015. Code users will continue to have the option of purchasing either the hardcopy or an electronic version from a licensed reseller, such as IHS. We have received positive feedback about the change to the two-year cycle. Certificate-holders are finding it easier to comply with the Code with the elimination of the Addenda and a reduction in the changes. As you know, the Errata, Interpretations and Code Cases will continue to be updated regularly, in between new releases of the Code, and will be available to your customers as they are issued as part of their online subscriptions or via hardcopy purchases. As I have mentioned in the past, the online IHS BPVC Advantage HTML version of the Code remains available to those customers who wish to transition from print or the traditional read-only electronic version to a dynamically linked, interactive tool. The HTML version of the Code has proven to be particularly relevant to Code users given current issues around the engineering workforce and global supply chains. We are pleased that IHS again is participating in educating the industry about the changes to the BPVC, as well as the new revision cycle.
