MSc (IT)
I’ve loved my year of MSc IT study at HKUST. It offered me a
wide selection of courses that are a great asset in my career. My classmates are from
diverse cultures and academic backgrounds, all sharing same interest in technology. Collaborating to accomplish course projects are unforgettable experiences. I wish the program
could have been longer.

The BDT program at HKUST provided with an insight into the eld of
big data. The teaching and supervision here is top-notch and the courses in this program are well
designed, covering not only professional knowledge, but also frontier research in mathematics, articial intelli-
gence, nance and computer science…
Although courses here are difcult, the progress I’ve made during the program is huge and I am well prepared to begin a career as a data scientist. Moreover, I also received meticulous instruction from the supervisor on my
independent project, which gave me hands-on experience to develop relevant job skills...
GU Jiani (China, 2017)
My overall experience of MSc BDT program at HKUST has been
excellent from the very beginning. While this is the rst cohort of the program, the courses offered by
the world-class professors are well designed, which address both the theoretical and practical perspectives of
topics related to big data technologies…
The courses have broadened my horizons and aroused my interest in the elds of articial intelligence and machine learning, so I am now very interested in pursuing further
studies and research in these areas.
In this era of big data and AI, this program is denitely one of the best of its kind.
LAU Tsz Kit(Hong Kong, 2017)
The MSc IT has been my most fullling year of my education so far. The
diversity among the students, as well as outstanding professors, provided an unparalleled
learning atmosphere. There is a broad selection of courses which has been relevant for my future career…
HKUST has one of the best study environments I’ve encountered and is extremely accessible… Whenever I wanted a break, I was able to put on my hiking boots and explore any of the breath-taking trails all over
the city…
