As per the recommendation of Hon’ble Supreme Court dated 14th Sept, 2011, computerization of complete

supply chain management up to the shop level and availability of this information on a Transparency Portal

in public domain is to be accorded the highest priority. The portal should have different dashboards catering

to the information needs of all the stakeholders.

For this purpose, NIC has developed PDS portal where information received from the States/UTs shall be

published for public access. Given below is the list of some such items that may be made available through

the transparency portal. In addition to the textual information on policy, there are certain databases that

may be updated regularly and published over internet. State may use their current application software for

compiling and monitoring these database or they may use the Common Application Software (CAS) of NIC.

We can standardize onto the formats of reports that can be generated for PDS related information. A set of

such formats is being given herewith for consideration by state governments and who may like to get these

developed through their technical team working for PDS software. It may be noted that States that are using

CAS (list enclosed- Annexure II) need not do any extra effort for publishing this data as the links to all such

reports can be provided directly on the state portal for which they may get in touch with local NIC

coordinator. Sample formats of the reports are given in the Annexure I.
