We are made up of artists, architects, designers, and innovators who believe that glass, with its

endless possibilities and dramatic spatial qualities, is an infinitely exciting medium for architectural

storytelling. However, we go above and beyond just selling glass. Between our own proprietary

ink printing technology and our stunning good looks detail-oriented and collaborative design

methods, our process is what makes us unique. From start to installation, our team of designers

and project managers will ensure that only the most thoughtful, beautiful, and long-lasting pieces

FIRST and foremost, we begin by identifying and understanding the overall project’s design concept, regardless of the scope of work at hand. We believe that every project, no matter the scale, deserves great, thoughtful design. This includes both the product type/application and the image or pattern itself to result in a cohesive, creative art piece.

Throughout this process, we go the extra mile by offering as much or as little of our own design input as you’d like, while still guiding you through our many product options. Because we are a team of designers, we are able to provide the know-how needed to maintain continuity through an architectural scheme. Have absolutely no idea where to begin? DETAIL DESIGN + FINAL PRICING

By this point, we have established your desired result, and we are determined to see every aspect of the product through. Our unprecidented attention to detail is truly what sets us apart from many of our competitors, and is a main source of our pride in our work. Our designers begin by compiling a complete drawing set for the project, specifying every tiny detail down to the hardware and attachments. We provide information and recommendations on everything from color, opacity, panel type, and edge condition, and we make sure whichever image or pattern provided is at its peak of quality/dpi.

After these decisions are made, we complete our drawings and/or renderings and send them your way. Any additional changes to the design will then occur, followed by a fully itemized break-down of the final pricing - our glass isn’t the only thing that’s transparent.

3 4MAKING IT DONEPRODUCTION + PROOFING

After the approval of overall product design, we don’t just disappear - we keep working to make sure the production quality matches our high level of standards. This phase includes all the little things that make it happen, such as the production and approval of shop drawings, and the approval of a real sample proof (because sometimes several rounds of details and renderings still don’t cut it, and we’re all perfectionists here).

This is also the point of a project in which we work very closely with you to decide on an installer. We do not install glass ourselves, however, having worked with well-respected members of the industry for as long as we have, we can supply a list of local, highly-recommended companies that we trust a great deal. We will coordinate a time frame for delivery of the piece, and last (but not least), execute the purchase order.

DELIVERY + INSTALLATION

While the product is being produced, we keep close watch on progress and coordinate delivery to the job site in a timeless manner, so you don’t have to. At this point, we provide extended installation coordination support, meaning that we make sure our guarantee of “making it happen” actually stands true. We supply information on the care and maintenance of our product (though believe us, those instructions could not be simpler), and ensure that in the event that something does go wrong, we are there to help make it right. Depending on the scale and locale of the project, we may even be convinced to coordinate installation on site, if need be.

Finally, the piece of mind that our warranty provides lives on years after installation. We stand by the longevity and durability of our technology, but in the event the product does not live up to our standards, we offer several options for the repair or replacement of the product. EQUAL PARTS: BEAUTY ... AND FUNCTION

Glass is not a new material. We understand this. However, we feel that it is our dream to take this substrate - perhaps the most timeless building material out there - and make it better. Printing on glass is an incredible way to make a statement within a project, and our products go above and beyond industry expectations.

Our printing technology uses only the absolute highest quality pigment, yet in a thinner, more precise application, allowing us to print razor-sharp images at a whopping 1440 DPI. And our completely customizable array of pigments ensure the most vivid of colors in both deep, saturated images and spot-color patterns. Even our solid-colored panels look rich. Every hue under the sun (yes, including reds) is not only beautiful on our glass, but is weather and UV resistant.

OUR INK is the liquid gold, the secret sauce that makes our product not only beautiful, but timeless. Literally. Because we do not use vinyl film interlayers, but instead print directly to substrate, your images and patterns will not bubble, crack, or peel over time, and are scratch/chemical resistant. This technology allows us to create both interior and exterior products, with applications spanning from floor tiles to large-scale facade panels. And, because we do not use heat-curing, our product is not only more pure in color, our process is not toxic, therefore it is healthy to both our workers and our environment.

CREATE YOUR VISIONENDLESS DESIGN POSSIBILITIES

The design process doesn’t stop at image selection. Here at Myodo, we believe in options - afterall, we named our business after them (see: outer back cover). In order to get the biggest effect out of your project, we offer the opportunity to tweak the glass and image to the furthest of our capabilities. With this many design options, your product will truly be one of a kind.

Everything starts with the glass, or what we call the “CANVAS” to the art piece. We currently offer five different opacities, ranging from fully transparent, to our signature soft white, all the way to fully opaque, or back-painted glass. These not only provide a great “base-level” transparency, but will help guide the purity or saturation of colors within the selected design.

Because no two custom projects are the same, this is the point in which we offer the options to add custom “SPOT” opacity or color to the design. The desired effect, the spatial characteristics, and the application of the product all play into effect here. Because of our direct-to-substrate printing, we are able to apply multiple layers of ink on top of each other, creating unique, dimensional shadow effects from every angle.

Next, we determine the applicable PANEL TYPE, and/or the desired THICKNESS. This process is one part practicality, and one part aesthetics. We are able to print on both Monolithic and Laminated panels, and our Tempered glass option is a sure way to guarantee a safe product for many architectural applications. We will work with you to make sure the physical specifications of your panel matches the needs of the project as a whole.

Finally, we establish the “framework” for how the product is installed, and how it is integrated into its surroundings. Because we are such detail-oriented people, we want to guarantee that our product is executed in the best, most elegant manner. We will assist in choosing any hardware needed for holding the glass in place, as well as any adhesives needed to “seal the deal.”

HOW IT ALL STARTED SQUAD GOALS

Though we are a group of creative thinkers and doers, our start-up story has its roots firmly in digital printing technology. Our solution was born out of necessity and the recognition that the market lacked a completely customizable glass product that is as beautiful as it is durable. After working in the industry and experiencing the shortcomings of current market solutions, our team of engineers set out to create the MYOTECH process we use today. After several years of research and development, our lead visionary and founder Alan Chu worked to expand his technology into the design world - in 2014, renowned designer Jeffrey Lamb joined the team, sparking the collaborative, multi-faceted design process we know and love so well.

OUR MISSION today is simple, and broken into three parts. First, we aim to empower designers with visual storytelling by providing the tools for creating beautiful spaces in an accessible, easy format. Second, we are committed to creating a local/regional market that is collaborative and people-based at its core. Third, we hope to influence the way the world sees the built environment through innovative printing technologies and products that are timeless, inspiring, and know no bounds.

OUR CORE TEAM is both creative and practical, hard-working and energetic. We have all been exposed to the design world in every which way, and combined, we make a pretty fantastic squad. We are all loyal Portlanders, and though we have projects abroad, our ties always lead home to PDX. Because of our Rose City pride, we are committed to supporting our fellow local businesses and purveyors as much as possible, whether that is collaborating with local artists or working directly with local design firms.
