arcadian shop feel the same way. There is something

special about the smell of Berkshire soil in the

springtime. it is the pervasive scent of the forest

that invades every fiber of our clothing as we hike

along our many trails. or the more pungent smell

of the tenacious mud that clings to chain rings and

lycra shorts. it could be the even darker odor of the

river muck that welcomes the sacrifice of a water

shoe with a deeply satisfied sucking sound.

out there our sweat mingles with the mud. we find

the deep parts of ourselves by losing ourselves

in the wonder and challenge of the outdoors. we

carry the smell and self-knowledge that our outdoor

pursuits give us back to the "real" world. we carry it

back to the office. we carry it back to our families.
