It is a mitzvah (commandment) for Jews to count out loud the forty-nine days from the

second night of Passover until Shavuot, the holy day marking the Jewish community

receiving the Torah. The Kabbalists, Jewish mystics, used this period as a way to reflect upon

aspects of their personalities that reflected aspects of the Holy One. Join Outreach Chaplain

Audrey Seidman to learn more about this practice and to discuss in what ways each of us

“count the days.”
