By Megan ConklinIn the early hours of the morning on March

19, one hundred and fifty Kohler HighSchool band and choir students, parent chap-erones, and music department staff embarkedon an adventure that will not be soon forgot-ten. The next four days would prove to be theexperience of a lifetime as they enjoyed the2015 Band and Choir Performance Tour atWalt Disney World.

Fresh from the airport, students spent therest of the day soaking up the Florida sun anddiscovering magic that exists at Disney, fromjungle safaris, to the Carousel of Progress, tofantastic fireworks.

Friday was performance day! Members ofboth the Symphony Band and the ConcertChoir had the once-in-a-lifetime chance toperform at the Waterside Stage in the Down-town Disney Marketplace. Tunes from ourlocal talent floated out over the lagoon, at-tracting passersby to stop for a listen. Themusic didnt stop there, however, as studentsspent Saturday behind the scenes at the EpcotStudios working with Disney professionalsto simulate singing and playing in a recordingstudio just as professional musicians do. Both

the bands and choirs recordings were thensynched with a Disney movie so that Kohlerstudents were actually creating the sound-tracks!

After one last adventure in the themeparks, all 150 travelers had to bid Floridaadieu and make the return trip to KohlerSunday evening.

The students would like to thank the Per-forming Arts Organization for monetarilymaking this trip possible, the Kohler schooladministrators for allowing the trip to coin-cide with a long weekend, the parent chaper-ones for keeping us safe and making surethey drank enough water, and the music de-partment staff for preparing them for this ex-perience and for always encouraging them todo their best.
