Foreword Congratulations on clearing the written examination. Over one lac seventy Thousand
aspirants had applied for this position; you are among the few who has made it to this
stage. The primary purpose of this document is to provide you with clarity on the role of
Community Coordinator and next few stages in the assessment process.
The Role of Community Coordinator The community Coordinator’s role involves working within a community and help bringing positive
change in the lives of the poor and the needy. While this may sound very altruistic, we would like to
tell you that the role is also very challenging and demands high levels of commitment and
professionalism.
This Role is NOT FOR YOU 1. If you do not see yourself living among the poor in rural surroundings.
2. If you are not a community focussed person and feel uncomfortable working with large
groups
3. If you are not motivated by a desire to help the disadvantaged
4. If, working outside a 9.00 am to 5.00 pm job does not interest you.
Next Step Assessment Parameters 1. Ability to communicate clearly and effectively
2. Concern for others' feelings without becoming emotionally over-involved
3. Sensitivity and respect for cultural, gender, religious, ideological and ethnic diversity.
4. Adaptability to Rural surroundings
The above areas of assessment will be carried out through a set of activities that involve the
following:
1. Field Task
2. Personal Interview
3. Community Feedback
The above three rounds will have 30% weightage each on the overall results. Candidates will have to
clear each stage separately for being shortlisted.
Number of Days of Assessments The total process will last for seven days. In case the interviews get slightly delayed at the
Block/District, some candidates may have to stay back in the district during last night.
What you should carry with you Candidates should prepare for a one to two nights stay in a village. Towards this, we recommend
that you bring the following with you:
1. Baggage Components
a. Bed sheet: 2 Numbers
i. 1 to be used as Rug
ii. 1 to be used for Covering yourself, should you so prefer
b. Mosquito Coil/ Odomos or any other Mosquito repellent that does not require
electricity to work
c. Drinking Water Bottle: 1 number
d. Small Torch
e. Mug
f. Toothpaste & Brush or equivalent
g. Towel and Soap
Precaution for COVID 19
a) Mask
b) Sanitizer
c) Gloves
d) Liquid Soap
e) Paracetamol Tablets – 650mg
2. Sufficient Money
a. To meet Fare Charges (to and fro from Block/District to your House)
b. Extra amount sufficient to cover one-night paid stay at the District in a lodge or
hotel, if and where required.
3. Medicines
a. If you are under medication, please carry your own medicines.
b. Carry Band Aids to treat minor cuts or bruises etc. (Emergency first aid)
Allowance for stay: Candidates who have been invited for CC internship program of seven days
will be paid Rs.250/-per day to make his/her living arrangement in the community’s household.
Do's and Don'ts We recommend the following Do’s and Don’ts
1. Do not carry valuables like
a. Gold Chains and Necklaces,
b. Expensive mobile phones
c. Expensive Bracelets
d. Other expensive devices, gadgets or personal belongings
2. Consumption of Alcohol, smoking of Cigarette/Beedi or chewing of Tobacco products is
strictly prohibited.
3. Dress Sense
This should be suitable to rural surroundings. Indicative inputs are as given below:
a. Women
i. Wear Cotton Salwar/ Sarees, alternate attire in keeping with the Village
Decorum
ii. Wear full canvas shoes
iii. Avoid wearing heels for fear of injury
b. Men
i. Do not wear
1. Sleeveless T-Shirts,
2. Chain Belts,
3. Leather Jackets etc
ii. Wear
1. Simple cotton trousers
2. T-Shirts with Collar or Shirts
Village Community Living Best Practices For those accustomed to the comforts of the cities, the village experience may at once be
exhilarating or troublesome, depending on your outlook. However, some best practices that need to
be followed are the following:
1. Be very polite to people around you.
2. Do not enter into lengthy debates pertaining to politics, caste creed religion or social mores.
3. Be proactively sensitive when addressing women of the household or the village. Different
communities follow different social mores in this matter.
4. Leave behind a clean place, including utensils that you have used, and facilities that you may
have availed
5. Follow the Do’s and Don’ts closely.
6. Do not ask for money or any other favours that may have an economic impact on the
household you have been assigned.

requests for postponements or rescheduling will not be entertained.
Expense Reimbursements No claims for reimbursement of any expense will be entertained by BRLPS at any point of time. All
cost for travel, local conveyance etc. is to be borne by the applicant only. Where required, transport
from Block to Villages and return will be arranged by BRLPS on a case to case basis. Also, stay for one
night in the village will be arranged through BRLPS local teams.
