Beloved partners, Twelve years ago I left the Christian Broadcasting Network’s 700 Club television to lead this great High Adventure Ministries. Over the last few days, I have been studying our history and reading some of our very first newsletters. I have recalled the many blessings we’ve had together. I also saw the “land mines” God helped us to side-step. It is evident through the years that when there was no clear vision, the Lord was shielding us from what was ahead. The leading foremost in our hearts was the driving force just like Jesus felt when He said, “We must go to Jerusalem.” (Matthew 16:21). In 1979, George Otis put out his first May Day call for funds to build a radio station for the Lebanese Christians at the Good Fence in Southern Lebanon. He opened offices in Metulla, Israel and began a high adventure that resulted in over 23 years of radio broadcasting ministry known throughout Israel and Lebanon as the Voice of Hope. Then in 2000, you heard my first May Day call triggered by Israel’s notification to Isaac Gronberg that the Voice of Hope must get out of Lebanon within three days! It appeared that all would be lost, every- thing would be gone instantly. I had been with the Ministry for only six months. The High Adventure partners stepped up, and instead of losing everything, the Lord provided for us to move to Jerusalem! We continued to broadcast via SkyAngel and the internet as the Voice of Jerusalem. High adventure was financially able to move and get all of our equipment dismantled and shipped to some of our other broad- casting facilities in Africa and Palau. Miraculously, the lives of nine of our Lebanese staff families were saved. The Lord and you were there, and we were rescued. From 2000 to 2012, many times you responded to my May Day calls as pastors were ready to start up suitcase-radio stations in Bethlehem, Iraq, Africa, Indonesia and Haiti. We planted and helped to up- grade over 21 suitcase-radio stations at a cost of several thousand dollars each. These suitcase-radios have become powerful, self-sustained Christian radio stations. Our suitcase-radios in Iraq still broadcast today, despite the fact that the American troops have moved out. I recently re-read our very first testimony received from the Iraqi suitcase-radio ministry, written by a listener in Baghdad. He wanted us to thank those who had given to start up the radio station. He wrote, “When people like you give, people like me get saved.” In 2011, with Israel’s license having been granted to us, we were given the great opportunity to go “on air” all through Israel as the first Christian radio broadcasters, as Kol Hatikva (the Voice of Hope) on the HOT Telecommunications Network. Now, here we are in May, 2012. On December 1, 2011 at 12:01 AM Israel time, we began broadcasting in Israel. Beloved partners,

Twelve years ago I left the Christian Broadcasting Network’s 700 Club television to lead this great High Adventure Ministries. Over the last few days, I have been studying our history and reading some of our very first newsletters. I have recalled the many blessings we’ve had together. I also saw the “land mines” God helped us

to side-step.

It appeared that all would be lost, every-thing would be gone instantly. I had been with the Ministry for only six months. The High Adventure partners stepped up, and instead of losing everything, the Lord provided for us to move to Jerusalem! We continued to broadcast via SkyAngel and the internet as the Voice of Jerusalem. High adventure was financially able to move and get all of our equipment dismantled and shipped to some of our other broad-casting facilities in Africa and Palau.

We planted and helped to up-grade over 21 suitcase-radio stations at a cost of several thousand dollars each. He wrote, “When people like you give, people like me get saved.”

In 2011, with Israel’s license having been granted to us, we were given the great opportunity to go “on air” all through Israel as the first Christian radio broadcasters, as Kol Hatikva (the Voice of Hope) on the HOT Telecommunications Network. Now, here we are in May, 2012. On December 1, 2011 at 12:01 AM Israel time, we began broadcasting in Israel. God touched your hearts to help us, and we made it!

I recall several other times over the years that mandated my giving a May Day call to our partners. Every May Day call was out of desperation -- We had to leave Lebanon. We moved our Lebanon staff and equipment to safety. We had pastors who needed suitcase-radios in Bethlehem, Iraq, Indonesia, Haiti and Africa. Equipment needed to be purchased. Staff changes were necessary. Moving to Kentucky was costly. The earthquake in Haiti weighed greatly upon us for humanitarian aid and a radio station. And, God was always faithful to prompt our partners to help -- and His mercies have been new every morning.

For some reason I keep hearing in my spirit the words May Day! May Day! I have learned that these words are never to be used without a clear distress situation where help is desperately needed, but I believe the Lord is telling me that High Adventure is headed once again into strategic times. We must maintain “all the land” God has given us. As America flounders with no apparent vision, we all continue to labor and pray before the night sets in and no man can work. Jesus is coming very soon. We must help bring in the precious seed of the harvest.

Day to day we believe the Lord will meet the broadcast budget. Day to day He provides because the highest call any of us has is to reach people with Jesus’ message of hope and salvation. At times it is hard to express how much your sacrificial giving has meant. Because of you, the Good News of Jesus Christ is going forth and lives are being changed. To be honest, at times the weight of it is heavy. We have added a tremendous amount to our budget to support the Israel broadcasting on HOT. Month to month the ministry needs do not diminish. But, this ministry would not survive without your faithfulness! Please help us continue to be His “voice of hope” by sending what the Lord prompts you to send today.

Thank you for being there. Thank you for giving. Thank you, High Adventure partners.

“VOICE OF HOPE” JEWISH LISTENER ACCEPTS JESUSAND BECOMES PASTOR OF CHURCH

High Adventure’s Voice of Hope station in Lebanon reached into the heart of Claude, a young Kibbutz worker -- a French Jew who met his Messiah through our broadcasts. Today he pastors a church inside Tiberias where it is said that the 71-member Sanhedrin assembly, which was dormant for nearly 2000 years, has been revived. This assembly of leaders once led as Israel’s supreme leadership, and is considered by many in the orthodox community as a major facet of Israel’s restoration, and

perhaps one vital to its end-time preparation for Messiah. Tiberias is clearly a spiritual epicenter for last day events and only miles away from Armageddon itself, where God will judge the nations! (Revelation 16). Claude has felt led to plant a church here at the site of much future spiritual activity.

*GEMS FROM GENEVIEVE…

*For many years, mom has kept writings in little books. She writes of things that ministered to her day-to-day.This was taken from one of those books.

Dear Lord, clear my mind as I kneel before You.Help me to seek You in all that I do. Help me to know where you’re leading today.Help me to follow each step of the way.I pray not for riches or worldly fame.I just ask for strength to lift up Your Name. If a friend has a need or a burden to bear. Help me to be there, to show that I care. Help me to be all you want me to be. Let others see Jesus living in me. Then when day has ended, and sleep takes control,Help me to say, “It is well with my soul.”

Reaching millions with the message of hope broadcasts, can be heard from our websitewww.highadventure.org

Samantha wrote in her newsletter…

On December 1, 2011, my birthday, High Adventure went on the air on Hot Telecommunications Network in Israel. Through HOT, God

has opened huge new audiences to our program. Psalms of Hope has been on the air on the large FM station in Bethlehem, on the

suitcase-radio stations all over Iraq, and on the Internet, six times a week, as well as stations here in the United States. Now, being on the HOT Network, Psalms of Hope is able to be received into

most of the homes in Israel! As you know from the news, Israel is in a very precarious position, with Iran announcing to the world over

television that they intend to destroy Israel and “send the Jews into the sea.” If you lived there, you would hear on Psalms of Hope that

Jesus, the Messiah, wants to be with you in every circumstance, in every situation, no matter what you’re going through. The message

of peace and hope would be a welcome message to you.

Would you like to have Genevieve pray with you?

She wants to hear from you.Send an email to

[email protected] or call 1-800-517-4673

We’ll schedule a phone call to you directly from Genevieve.

If you just want to send your prayer request, she will pray and send you a personal post card.

We hope you’ll love Genevieve’s input in our newsletter.

Let us know!

Margie reports on the power of God,dramatically demonstrated as Beaufort Castle erupts…

The PLO (Palestine Liberation Organization) occupied Beaufort Castle in Lebanon in 1976. It was an important crusader fortress built in the year 1139. As the Voice of Hope radio station was being built at the border crossing from Metula, Israel to Lebanon (an area known as The Good Fence), that castle would frequently fire upon all of them (like Gaza today). An article published by a PLO magazine in Beirut said,

“This man Otis is naming his station ‘The Voice of Hope,’ but he should call it ‘The Voice of Doom,’ because within three days we will blow it into oblivion!” George shuddered when he read the article as the transmitters and antennae sat on open ground less than four miles east of Beaufort’s guns and rockets. Only the Litani River and a hilly ridge separated them. They were an easy target – a sitting duck – and now they had begun to attract the attention of the PLO. Yet God had led them to this place, and they felt reassured to think that God had often placed His people in situations of conflict where the odds were most unfavorable.

As George flew over to Israel, the Lord whispered in his ear, “Don’t concern yourself with Beaufort, for I myself will deal with it – and yet this very year.” As soon as he arrived in Israel, he scheduled a meeting with an Israeli General and a Lebanese Colonel and told them, “You and your people have suffered enough from that stronghold. The Lord has assured me He will silence Beaufort’s guns before the year is out. I wanted you to hear it from me before it happens.” George says they listened, but with skepticism, and said, “George, you’re “ha’mashuga’ (the crazy one). That big old castle is impossible. Let’s face it, she hasn’t sat up there carved out of rock on a sheer 2000 foot cliff for 850 years for nothing. It would take an atomic bomb to level her.”

Three weeks later on a sunny Thursday morning, Beaufort scored a direct hit upon the crew building the Voice of Hope. That day George shook his fist at it and said, “That did it, Beaufort. You’re finished!” He called the crew together and commenced to pray, “Lord, we cannot finish the Voice of Hope without Your protection. You promised …and we lovingly remind You that today is a part of this year. We now ask You for immediate intervention. In the name of Jesus, you evil fort, we take absolute authority over you and command your guns to be spiked. Your times of destruction and death are finished. On this very day, be silent. Amen.” Nothing happened. He tells how the firing continued as if to mock him, but he knew somehow the 850 year old fort would hear from God.

It was about 10 o’clock in the morning when they stopped work and drove back down to Metulla. Beaufort came into view – they could see it clearly. George was sitting in the front seat of the van and glanced at his watch. It was twenty minutes past noon. When he looked back up he was greeted by a sight “which none of us in that van will ever forget. The entire top gun floor of Beaufort Castle atomized before our eyes.” An explosive eruption from inside the fortress shot fire and smoke, rocks and debris, gun barrels, artillery carriages, tires, rocket tubes, and shredded fragments of human bodies hundreds and hundreds of feet into the air.

Awed and stunned, they stopped the van and stood silently by the road while secondary explosions rumbled from inside the castle. Then the scene fell silent and they shouted, “Praise the Lord!” They all started cheering uncontrollably – Their prayers were being answered before their very eyes. None of them had ever before seen the power of God so dramatically demonstrated.
