THE YEAR AT A GLANCE

We promised to embrace change…… and we did this by introducing a quality management system, new organizational culture that encourages innovation through employee empowerment.

We promised to increase operating efficiency and this we achieved by introducing procedures and systems which brought about much needed change.

We promised to retain 95% trainees until the successful completion of the training and this we achieved by introducing career guidance department which brought about much needed change through selecting correct trainees from the target group for the correct courses and guiding them until the end.

We promised to maintain TVEC exam pass rate 100%, and maintain an average of 100%, we achieved this utmost important target through sheer commitment, dedication of the Co-workers at the SOS VTC.

All this would not have been possible if not for the efforts, the attitude, the aspirations and the flexibility of our co-workers and the confidence the community had vested in us. Above all this has been made possible through the unstinted efforts of the co-workers that I am privileged to work with The year 2012 began with increased confidence. Well-coordinated and interlinked development programs. Well knitted vision of the SOS VTC attracted well talented underprivileged youth for the program from all parts of Sri Lanka except from North and East, since the courses conducted in Sinhala medium. While the SOS Children’s Villages Sri Lanka assured under the patronage of Hilti organization, monetary stability that enable VTC to conduct training in a predictable manner and helped to gear long term prosperity to underprivileged youth who sought our assistance to shape up their future. We also recognize the need to continuously update our services and information of the SOS VTC to youth of the poor community and to stakeholders of the VTC. To this end we developed a web site which provides wider information with regard to the ongoing programs, statistics and other important information at a fingertip to anyone who wishes to know the information, progress, and other information of the SOS VTC. Hope this would promote due recognition, new opportunities and would lead us sustainable development and increase our ability to create more value to our stakeholders. We thank all our stakeholders, Hilti Management & staff members for their unstinted support and confidence in us. My gratitude and thanks go in full measure to my colleagues and the VTC team for their commitment and dedication in making SOS VTC a world class vocational training center.
