• School cultures are acknowledged and shared with the wider-school community through events such as St Benedict’s Cultural Day and our in-school Elective programmes.

Excellence in Education Successes
• Setting student achievement targets (Tier 1, Tier 2 and Tier 3 students)
• Hiring an extra Teacher Aide to reach more ‘at-risk learners, while embedding initiatives for longevity e.g. ALIM/SPRING/Intervention
• Teachers took part in Digital Technology Professional Learning Development (PLD) that focused on personalised identified needs or school-wide focus areas.
• Working with our neighbouring Catholic schools to share best practice while strengthening pathways to local Catholic secondary schools
• Student well-being survey – completed, analysed, set specific goals and targets to address discrepancies or areas of concern

Catholic Character Successes• Develop opportunities for affirming and celebrating diverse cultures
within our school
• The school utilises the strengths of the Parish to support the Catholic character, faith and teachings of the Church in our school.
• Worked with the new Parish model; maintain our systems, structures, evangalisation and Religious Education components while acknowledging the need for continued change and growth.
• Continuing to embed our Catholic Character.
• The DRS liaises with the Parish Leadership Team to make and send cards to identified families within the Parish – e.g. those with sick family members.
• Supporting families in need; pastoral care in action

Catholic Character Successes• Ensure buddying of older and younger students throughout the school
to enhance an inclusive culture.
• Encourage family attendance and student participation in Sunday Masses (Children’s Masses)
• Engage in Caritas, Vinnies and charity work which leads to student awareness of others’ needs and presents opportunities for action.
• Foster stronger links with the Parish – including Parish Masses, Sunday Church, Picnics, Baptisms, Evangelisation and opportunities to celebrate the rich number of cultures and diversity in our Parish.
• Staff courses to ensure best-practice and upskilling of staff
• DRS, DP, CoL lead, and Principal sessions with our neighbouring Catholic schools

Communication Successes:
• School community surveyed in the areas of Health, PE and School-Wide Communication
• Sharing student reports and progress with parents in ways that are meaningful and supportive of next steps needed to achieve.
• Provide proactive content through various communication channels (newsletter, Blog, website, public-facing school areas)
• Embed our school’s Policies and Procedures, along with an all-encompassing review cycle that is implemented and continually carried out (Sun Protection policy)
• Celebrating St Benedict’s Catholic character, academic, cultural and sporting activities/achievements.
• Utilise appropriate and effective communication channels to ensure parents, caregivers and the wider community remain informed.

Communication Successes:
Carried out our annual consultation with our Māori whanau around student achievement and initiatives. Evidence: Term 1 parent consultation, Te Reo lessons, Kapa Haka instructors, Marae visit, priority learners (targets and goals).
Promoting the school to Catholic families throughout the school’s catchment area (kindergartens & pre-schools)
No kindergarten visits made; Cancelled the Open Day in Term 3. Newspaper articles (WelCom & Ind. Herald)
Weekly school newsletter circulated; regular blog posts

New back and side stairs to bank and playground

Current roof, foyer, office and toilets - build project (Dues money coming back to the school)
We are currently working with the ADW to address the eroding front bank that is likely to be undermining and therefore compromising the driveway.
