Analysis of Convection Correlations for a Cylinder in Laminar Cross Flow
Dan Karpowitz, Jon Day, Ryan Blanchard
Fluent was used to measure the heat transfer characteristics.
Provided data to compare with analytical correlations.
TS = 400 K ; T∞ = 200K
Using theoretical values the Nusselt number was calculated.
Churchill-Bernstein: Average Error 12.75%
Hilbert: Average Error 9.98%
Expected error near the ±10% range given in textbook.
Comparison of Cd was also made for Fluent and theoretical.
