One: Make a joyful noise to the Lord, all the earth.
All: Worship the Lord with gladness; come into God’s presence with singing.
One: Know that the Lord is God. It is he who made us and we are his;
All: We are his people, and the sheep of his pasture.
One: Enter his courts with thanksgiving, and his courts with praise. Give thanks to him and praise his name.
All: For the Lord is good; his steadfast love endures forever, and his faithfulness to all generations.
One: Let us lift hearts and voices to worship God!

Prayer of Confession
We have withheld from you, O God, our deepest selves, choosing only to offer that which we see as marketable or usable, when we know you desire the fullness of our beings. We fail to honor you and the unique gifts you have given us by insisting that one is better than the other. Grant us grace, that we may accept one another and give freely of ourselves to the glory of your kingdom. Renew our minds, and change our ways, that they become your ways in the fullness of your wisdom. Amen.

We praise thee, O God, we acknowledge thee to be the Lord. All the earth doth worship Thee, the Father everlasting. To Thee all Angels cry aloud the Heav’ns, and all the Pow’rs therein. To Thee Cherubim and Seraphim continually do cry, Holy! Holy! Holy! Lord God of Sabaoth! Heaven and earth are full of the majesty of Thy Glory. The glorious company of the Apostles, praise Thee. The goodly fellowship of the Prophets, praise Thee. The noble army of Martyrs, praise Thee. The Holy Church throughout all the world doth acknowledge Thee; The Father of an infinite majesty Thine honourable, true, and only Son; Also the Holy Ghost, the Comforter.

SECOND PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH PAGE 7 9:30 & 11 AM
Thou art the King of Glory, O Christ. Thou art the everlasting Son of the Father. When Thou tookest upon Thee to deliver man, Thou didst not abhor the Virgin's womb. When Thou had’st overcome the sharpness of death, Thou did’st open the Kingdom of Heav’n to all believers. Thou sittest at the right hand of God in the glory of the Father. We believe that Thou shalt come to be our Judge. We therefore pray Thee help Thy servants whom Thou hast redeemed with Thy precious blood. Make them to be numbered with Thy Saints in glory everlasting.
O Lord, save thy people and bless Thine heritage. Govern them and lift them up forever. Day by day we magnify Thee and we worship Thy name ever world without end. Vouchsafe, O Lord to keep us this day without sin, O Lord, have mercy upon us. O Lord, let thy mercy lighten upon us, as our trust is in Thee. O Lord, in Thee have I trusted. Let me never be confounded.

We Give Thanks to God
* Affirmation of Faith (from the United Church of Canada) Rev. David A. Berry
We sing of God the Spirit, who from the beginning has swept over the face of creation, animating all energy and matter and moving in the human heart. We sing of God the Spirit, faithful and untameable, who is creatively and redemptively active in the world. The Spirit challenges us to celebrate the holy not only in what is familiar, but also in that which seems foreign. We sing of God the Spirit, who speaks our prayers of deepest longing and enfolds our concerns and confessions, transforming us and the world. We offer worship as an outpouring of gratitude and awe and a practice of opening ourselves to God’s still, small voice of comfort, to God’s rushing whirlwind of challenge. Through word, music, art, and sacrament, In community and in solitude, God changes our lives, our relationships, and our world. Amen.
Invitation to Discipleship and Generosity
Offertory You Do Not Walk Alone Elaine Hagenberg (b. 1979)
May you see God’s light on the path ahead, when the road you walk is dark. May you always hear even in your hour of sorrow, the gentle singing of the lark. When times are hard, may hardness never turn your heart to stone. May you always remember when the shadows fall– You do not walk alone.

Prayers of the People and The Lord's Prayer
Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory, forever. Amen.
