Alright, Clase!This week’s lesson

is all about going to the zoo. We’re going to focus on the verb IR and the names of animals.

IR is one of the basics of Spanish. Without IR, no one could go anywhere. So, without anymore waiting, here are the conjugations of IR:

IR-to go

•1st Person Singular- Voy (I am going…)

•2nd Person Singular- Vas (You are going…)

•3rd Person Singular- Va (He, she, you is going…)

•1st Person Plural-Vamos (We are going/Let’s go…)

•2nd Person Plural-Vais (You all are going…)

•3rd Person Plural- Van (They, you all are going…)

But… What if you are going to do something!!?

That’s simple…Just add “a”.

Here’s a couple of examples:

Voy a ver los leones. (I am going to see the lions.)Vas a comprar un refesco. (You are going to buy a soft drink.)Va a visitar los monos. (He, she or you are going to visit the monkeys)Vamos a escuchar la musica de los animales. (We are going to listen to the music of the animals)Vais a comer en el restaurante.
