Fortune – April 2010• Accenture, planning on recruiting 50,000 over next 3 years: reckon 40% of his job hires will be through Social Media• If your serious about managing your career the only social media site that really matters in LinkedIn.• 60 million members – Their Profiles, Employment Histories, Building Connections etc• 17.6 million visitors to the site in Feb 2010, growing by 31%

LinkedIn – Who?• Users, mainly corporate – Customers, colleagues, bosses, competitors.• Average member is college educated 43 year old.• More than a quarter are senior executives.• Every Fortune 500 company is represented.

Linked In– Other bits• Recruiters find the highest level of employees through it – Oracle found their CFO Jeff Epstein on LinkedIn.• On the site most users have jobs.• The days of cloaking your private information are gone – take control and make sure you are found and that when found you are looking sharp.• Googling customers, candidates, potential service providers is now commonplace.
