What is Tyze?

• Tyze provides secure, online personal networks of support that result in better health outcomes and full lives for people experiencing life challenges.

How it Works

• The main features of Tyze are:– Connect– Calendar– Contribute– Stories / Photos– Shared Files– Vault – Profile

How Tyze is Unique

• Every network is created around a specific person and situation.

• Designed to strengthen relationships, not count them.

• Secure, closed networks, so that no-one has access to family networks unless invited by the network center.

• Ongoing training and mentoring for network connectors.

Role of the ConnectorIdentify members and extend invitations Introduce Tyze to prospective members Keep momentum on the siteSupport network members to use Tyze

Hospitality is the heart

Can be a friend, family member or paid staff person

Survey Results and Findings

• 31 organizations in three countries (UK, USA and Canada) are using Tyze

• 30% of Tyze users are 56+• 32% of Tyze users said they had reservations

about first using Tyze because they were new to the technology but 72.5% said they found it easy to get started

• Users report Tyze is “handy for planning events” and that it is “a valuable tool for connecting people with the friends who care about their wellbeing”

Four Cross System Challenges

• Effective responses to isolation and loneliness

• Personalization + Self Directed Care• Attracting new sources of capital• Collaborative approaches to care that

address fiscal and human resource constraints

Better TogetherWith reductions in health and social services’ funding, our formal systems of care need to find ways to collaborate.

Tyze Vision

• Tyze was created to get everything that we know about building strong personal networks into the water supply

• Embed full citizen perspective in structures and institutions

• Change cultural consciousness from needs and inability to contribution and participation
