TWLOHA’s ValuesFrom TWLOHA- Creighton’s website

Love “Love is the

movement” “Rescue is possible” “Not leaving others

all alone. Believing other stories matter. Hope for others. Hope for change.”

Hope “Believing you are

not alone. Believing your story matters and is not over. Believing the world can change.”

Dream

“Imagination. Vision. Seeing things before they're built. Daring to believe your hopes. Permission to follow a hopeful suspicion.”

Vision “The vision is that community

and hope and help would replace secrets and silence.

The vision is people putting down guns and blades and bottles.

The vision is that we can reduce the suicide rate in America and around the world.

The vision is that we would learn what it means to love our friends, and that we would love ourselves enough to get the help we need.

Courage “Facing fears that

keep us stuck. Raising your hand for help. Breaking the cycle of shame. Fighting a stigma that feels like a giant. Getting help for the first time. Asking a difficult question. Helping, not fixing.”

Sensitivity “Understanding our

ability to hurt others. Understanding what it feels like to be hurt. Familiar with the ways people are often hurt. Willingness to try not to hurt them.”

Community “Life lived together.

Sharing the whole of who we are. Working, playing, eating, learning. People who really know you - to know and be known. To care for others and allow them to care for you.”

Hospitality

“Inviting outsiders to the inside. Treating strangers like friends. Expanding our idea of home to include spaces far beyond the structures we inhabit. Going beyond a need to meet a desire.”
