WHY BUY LOCAL?WHY BUY ORGANIC?

When it is so much “easier” not to?

You are what you eat

Do you know what you are eating?

What is more important than what you put in your body?

Unhealthy, “fake” food is cheaper, and higher in calories.

Despite their willingness to splurge in other areas, Americans seem to look for quantity, rather than quality, in their food.

What does “local” really mean?

Fossil Fuels

20% OF THE FOSSIL FUEL WE BURN IS BURNED TO PROCESS AND TRANSFER FOOD. THIS IS THE EQUIVALENT OF WHAT WE USE FOR PERSONAL TRANSPORTATION.

Fossil Fuels

It takes 10 calories of fossil fuel to produce 1 calorie of processed

food.

Local Purchasing

It is a common misconception that purchasing locally will be

more expensive.

In fact it is just the opposite.

It just makes sense…

Support your community.

Support local farmers.

Eliminate the usage of excess fossil fuels.

Sustainability is necessary.

The fresher the better!

Organic

Organic is healthier and socially responsible

Organic Corporations

Purchasing organic is a good start for better eating, but most organic products purchased from the grocery store are subdivisions of giant non-organic corporations.

Be aware of who you are giving your money to.

Money=Support

It just makes sense!

A simple choice

Good for you and the planet.

Bad for you and the planet.

Processed, transported,

deceitful, & disgusting
