- A Canadian Invention !

WHO?

• Dr. J.W. Elliott, a Toronto dentist, designed the first rotary snowplough.

• Orange Jull, another Canadian, improved Elliott’s design.

WHEN?

• The first rotary snowplough was designed in 1869.

• The second model was produced between 1890 and 1892.

WHERE?

• Canada

• The rotary was invented it in Toronto, Ontario.

WHY?

• There have too much snow.

• In winter, people should to clean snow by their hands, they’re too tired.

• Many people died in cleaning up the snow.

HOW?

• The first rail plough was invented by steel

• In 1869, a man called Elliot designed the first rotary snowplough

• Orange Jull improved Elliott’s design later, it contained several pivoting steel plates, it’s wheel in either direction at up to 400 rpm. It’s speed can up to 16 kmh
