The Logical Elevator Solution
KONE EcoSpace™
Machine Room-Less performance in a hydraulic elevator hoistway
The Revolutionary MRL Elevator Concept
KONE EcoDisc® technology eliminates the need for a machine room by attaching the hoisting
machine to the guide rail, and placing all control and logic systems in an integral control space.
KONE was the first to provide an MRL elevator solution in the early 1990s
KONE leads the industry with over 125,000 MRL installations
KONE is the first to provide gearless elevator performance in the low-rise market
KONE EcoDisc provides the same next-generation elevator technology
for low, mid and high-rise applications
The logical solution is KONE EcoSpace. Proven technology.
More space, less installation cost
KONE EcoSpace eliminates the need for the machine roomrequired by hydraulic and overhead traction applications. The controller is built into the front wall at the top landing.
Rail mounted machine. Minimal building integration.
The KONE EcoDisc hoistingmachine is so compact that it can be mounted onto the guiderail in a standard hydraulic hoistway shaft. KONE EcoSpacerequires no additional structuralbeams in the hoistway of the elevator because all reaction loadsare transferred to the pit floor.

KONE EcoSpace Planning Guide
Notes(1) A hoist beam (by KONE) is required for installation
(by others). Dimension reflects clear under hoist beam.
(2) If an EBD (Emergency Battery Device) is requiredplease contact your KONE Sales Professional for further detail regarding dimension .
(3) The published hoistway x dimensions represent the minimum clear inside requirements.Construction efficiencies can be realized by increasing these dimensions by up to 2 inches.
(4) For seismic zones, add 4" to dimension for 2000lb. and 2500 lb. capacity applications.
(5) For pit depths less than 5' please contact a KONESales Professional.
(6) Hoistway width tolerance is -0 to +1 in eachdirection . Contact a KONE Sales Professional.
(7) No occupied space below the pit is allowed with KONE EcoSpace.
