Findings:Participation of the students in the program is crucial.

Participation with the local design community is crucial. (Alumni)

Participation with the online design community at large is crucial.

Using social networking media and being a part of the larger picture.

ResearchFindings:Profiles of site members including links to their own microblog within the DDBlog, as well as links to social media/networking sites. Members are a key part of the site.

Research Conclusions

A site that offers both aspects of online social networking:

Fun like Facebook, with everyone encouraged to participate.(More traffic, more content, more activity, better search results, becomes the 4th tab.)

Professionallike LinkedIn, with filtered content presented to the community.(More community awareness, better perception, professional branding, more jobs, gives the external community 5 minutes of Sunshine.)

Mission StatementFor the VFS Design Blog to become the 4th Tab for DD students.&For the blog to be visited daily by alumni and the design community at large.
