Position Overview
Comcare’s role is to support participation and productivity through healthy and safe workplaces that minimise the impact of harm.
Comcare’s five business priorities are:
Leading workers ‘compensation insurer—working with employees and employers to minimise harm in workplaces, support recovery at work and return to work, and deliver sustainable management of the fund.
Effective national regulator—achieving safer and healthier workplaces through promoting continuous improvements in work health, safety and rehabilitation practices and monitoring compliance with the law.
Excellence in scheme design and management—excellence in scheme design and management to achieve sustainable and better practice national schemes.
Efficient and effective operations—working collaboratively and innovatively across the organisation to enable the business to achieve Comcare’s Outcome and support the business to drive change.
Drive innovation and better practice for the schemes - collaborate across Comcare and sectors to design and deliver research and innovative initiatives to further enhance scheme outcomes.
Overview of the role
Comcare is seeking to employ an Intern who would value and enjoy working in a team, understanding workplace practice and developing strengths and honing their skills.

Comcare is looking for a person with a degree in any of the following areas:
Health
Quantitative fields
Law
Policy
Data & Information management
Comcare will be looking for an Intern that is:

Primary responsibilities may include:
Under direction, manage a range of specified projects and tasks assigned from the group’s business plan.
Assist in drafting, preparing and/or proof reading documents such as briefing notes, memoranda, reports, correspondence, guidelines, manuals, procedures and publications.
Liaising with staff and other internal and external stakeholders about a range of matters relating to the organisation’s operations.
Interpreting, applying and advising in relation to the Safety, Rehabilitation and Compensation Act 1988 and the Work Health and Safety Act 2011.
Collating, researching, analysing, auditing and reporting on qualitative and quantitative information.
Copying, collating and distributing documents.
Processing mail, filing correspondence and maintaining records.
Providing secretarial support to internal/external committees.
Promote workplace safety, equity and diversity and environment practices in the workplace.
Demonstrate and model safe attitudes, values and behaviours in order to uphold your health and safety duties.
Commit to, promote and model the APS Values and APS Code of Conduct.

Eligibility Requirements
Second last or final year of a relevant undergraduate or postgraduate degree
Australian citizens only
Identify as having disability
