Position Overview
Membership and Strategic Services
This position is part of a NSW Public Service Commission program to provide students with disability an introduction to the public sector. It is a fantastic way to launch your career in the public service. The internship will comprise of 2 parts - (1) commence in Summer 20/21 and (2) return in Winter 2021 to complete the internship.
Candidates must be currently studying in their penultimate year of a relevant undergraduate or postgraduate degree with an Australian University (must be due to graduate in either Sem 1 or Sem 2 of 2021).

For over 100 years the NSW Rural Fire Service (NSW RFS) has been a significant part of the history and landscape of NSW and is widely acknowledged as the largest volunteer fire service in the world. The agency strives to provide a world standard of excellence in the provision of a community based fire and emergency service through training, community education, prevention and operational capability.
Fighting fires and protecting the community from emergencies is the most visible aspect of the NSW RFS. The Service also has many responsibilities as the lead agency for bush fire management and mitigation in NSW. Working closely with other agencies, the NSW RFS responds to a range of emergencies including structure fires, motor vehicle accidents and storms that occur within rural fire districts.

Key purpose of the placement
The Program Support Intern will work across both our Membership and Strategic, and Finance and Executive Directorates to support the delivery of programs to progress our strategic priorities in membership capability, program management, and business intelligence.
While the role will work across business units, the focus will be on workforce planning, data analysis and insights, and program management. You will be involved in change management projects and initiatives to support our people through organisational change.
Tasks to be undertaken by the intern
Assist with the collection and management of data to support people and business analytics and insights.
Work as part of a team to collect and analyse data and provide routine reports to identify trends and inform future decision making and planning.
Support the administration of programs including status reporting and program implementation monitoring.
Contribute to the design of programs, administrative support and coordination and researching appropriate solutions.
