nostalgia, is not a “Retro” movement. Its differing factor is that Steampunks do not return to the past and live the life

“Steampunk” as a term was coined by K.W. Jeter in 1979. Movies and novels now belonging to the genre have existed a few years longer.

The Steampunk boom came about with the internet.
