We were ecstatic when we had the chance to work with the amazing LaCarmina for this

month’s issue. She is just an incredible indi-vidual and if you have had a chance to follow this lovely on her blog or YouTube you need

to check her our soon... read the magazine but find out more about this beautiful Steampunk’d

creature soon.

Alas the event season has started and we will be attending our second Steampunk conven-

tion (Clockwork Alchemy) here in California in May. We will also be hosting a fashion show

during the event. This is every exciting for us because it will be the first time we have ever done anything of the sort. So, anticipation is high and plans are being made. We will also

have a booth at the event so if you are planning on attending the event please stop by and say

hello.

Lastly, I want to talk about what makes Steam-punk awesome. It isn’t just the gears, gadgets,

and character driven costumes. It’s the com-munities of people that come together from all walks of life and put everything aside to make

memories. It’s the people that make friendships and fellowships stronger and ultimately to have

fun. Because without fun what’s the point of doing any of this? Making this genre work is

what the fun is about and how to make ste-ampunk work is what your community is for.

Greetings, and welcome back ladies and gentlemen!

The summer months are upon us, but the weather isn’t the only thing that’s heating up around here. April marked our first venture to the famed Nova Albion in Santa Clara. It was a pleasure meeting the colorful characters who attended. If any of you are reading this, I sincerely hope you enjoy the magazine.

This month brings forth a new and exciting en-deavor for us here at Ladies of Steampunk. You can cut through the creative energy with a knife! As you may have read via Dr. Belegana, you will find us at Clockwork Alchemy in San Jose from May 24th - 27th. While there, we will be vending, so please don’t hesitate to stop by and introduce yourselves. That, however, is only the tip of the proverbial iceberg. You will also be treated to a fashion show (our very first) which we have been organizing since early this year. Yes, you will final-ly have an opportunity to meet the ladies!

That aside, we have also been quite busy planning photoshoots and working with several new, and delightful models whom you will get to see here.

We are pleased to present to you the charming and always fashionable La Carmina, fashion and travel blogger extraordinaire. Here, she tells us a bit about her life and career, and gives us a glimpse of Steampunk in Japan.
