SPRING/ PRE-FALL 2012: PART I

THE RETURN OF OPULENCEOpulence emerges, bringing with it a sense of history and a story to tell.

1.

Opulence emerges as a key trend

in apparel and home textiles for Spring ‘12.

Ornate fabrics, graphics, and trims havea sense of grandeur, a sense of grandeur, but an undercurrent

of sadness and loss. For example: silver that has been polished,

but remnants of oxidization are left behind. Luxurious behind. Luxurious satins and silks

that were stored away and forgotten, only to be discovered years later. This

sense of opulence hashistory and a story history and a story

to tell.
