Professional Development Workshops

Creative Kaos SCHOOL OF ART AND IMAGINEERING

WORKSHOP Choices: Pro D Workshops are uniquely designed for individual schools/districts and can be

catered to meet the needs of primary, intermediate, or high school teachers. Mediums,

specific artists, art movements, and themes can be discussed with workshop

coordinator. Media may include drawing, painting, sculpture, printmaking, textiles,

and mixed-media.

All Workshops are designed in a “Make and Take” format with teacher’s creating

3 or more art projects (depending upon full or half day workshop) that can be

easily reproduced in the classroom

“Resource Packages” are included with all sessions (lesson plans, necessary printables,

supply list, book and video suggestions, pre and post

discussion ideas….)

Costs include all art supplies used during workshop

1.5 or 3 hour sessions:

$30 pr person for the 1.5 hr sessions (+gst)

$40 pr person for the 3 hr sessions (+gst)

Serves a minimum of 15 teachers, max 36

Program Description

At Creative Kaos, classroom teachers become familiar with the concepts and processes

of child-directed art making while being less apprehensive about using diverse art

materials. Teachers are invited to experience first-hand the process-oriented art

techniques, in a way similar to what the children experience in the class-

room. Through these experiences, teachers share in their students' excitement

about creating art, they discover ways to integrate classroom lessons with studio

projects, and they gain familiarity with an artist's materials, tools and techniques. Under the

artist's guidance, teachers develop the confidence and ability to conduct art lessons and to extend

art into the everyday curriculum.
