Multi Media Tutorialon

Bockingford Watercolour Paper

Materials Used

● Derwent Tinted Charcoal Pencils ● Derwent Coloursoft Pencils● Derwent Drawing Pencils● Bockingford Paper by the St.Cuthbert Paper Mill● Sundries such as Blue-Tack, paper stump for

blending, pencil sharpener...

Using a light charcoal pencil I outlined the drawing area and the rocks. The texture of the paper is just so lovely for this

kind of subject.

Using the Coloursoft pencils I started to add colour to the rocks

Using the tinted charcoal pencils I started to add colour to the foreground. Also started using the Drawing pencils on the

rocks, these pencils have fabulous natural colours

Using the Coloursoft and the Drawing pencils I started to firm up the colours and added shadows. When drawing a similar

subject be mindful of the contrast between light and dark areas. Create contrast it will help create light

Using the Coloursoft and the Drawing pencils I created the rockpool in the foreground

Using the Coloursoft and the Drawing pencils I added the final touches. Where necessary I used Blue-Tack to lighten some of the rocks where I thought their colour was just a touch too

pronounced.
