Prof. Gathuma has successfullysupervised five Ph.D and Msc. candidatesand is currently supervising three Ph.Dand two M.Sc. candidates.

She has served as lecturer in theDepartment for the last 10 years. Shefirst served as assistant lecturer in thedepartment of Veterinary Pathology andMicrobiology in 1976.

She was first appointed onpromotion as Lecturer in 1979. She hasserved as a member of the board ofExaminers for M.Sc and Ph.D students.

She has acted as moderator forsupplementary Examinations in theFaculty of Human medicine, Departmentof Microbiology and Parasitology in twooccasions.Publications

Dr. Bebora has four publishedScientific papers to her credit and sixwhich have been presented for publication.Research

Dr. Bebora has developed avaccine against poultry disease. Currentlyshe has been consulted by the NationalCouncil for Science and Technology toevaluate for them a research proposal.

The proposal was entitled "surveyof antibodies to selected poultry diseaseagents in Kenya".

which have appeared in peer-refereedjournals and read 19others in internationalconferences.Current Research

Dr. George Gitau Kamau hasbeen promoted to lecturer. He was untilhis promotion a tutorial fellow in thedepartmentof orthopaedic Surgery.Educational Background

. Dr. Bakari joined Linguistics andAfrican languages department in 1976 as aTutorial Fellow. Between 1979 and 1980,he served as Assistant Lecturer beforebeing appointed on promotion as lecturerin 1981.
