Dear Allison,

This spring, Midway ISD Education Foundation will celebrate 10 years

of success by consistently funding “Grants for Great Ideas” over the

last decade.

Each year, the Education Foundation awards grant writers for

making positive suggestions to motivate and impact a community.

In the next few months, MISD Education Foundation will have several

grant opportunities that would interest the community to be inspired

and see the difference their contribution has on “Moving Education

Forward.”

• Yes, Wii Can: this project allows special needs students to

express themselves and experience an array of physical activity such

as aerobics, muscle stretches and balance games.

• Mirror, Mirror, What Will I Be? : Grades K-4 learn about the roles

of community helpers and mimic the roles by working in groups.

• Can You Dig It? : high school students use GPS to conduct a

treasure hunt to learn how to use maps for world geography, and

the GPS are used for algebra students in a graphical sense to

organize data.

We think your viewers, especially those who have been impacted by

Education Foundations funding, will find the grant stories a real

inspiration. We hope you agree.

I’ll be contacting you soon to see how we can partner on this

project.

Sincerely,

Cindy Dixon Midway ISD Education Foundation Intern
