Some things to Note- Score order by range- listed below from low to high string- Also, Mando and Octave mando are tuned the same an octave apart, as are the mandola and mandocello. Mandolin-G3 D A EMandola-C3 G D AOctave Mando-G2Guitar-E2Mandocello- C2Bass- E1After talking with some members of the Austin Mandolin Orchestra, I chose to keep things simple and avoid alto clef. Most of the community type orchestras want treble clef, some professionals may want alto clef, an easy computer transposition. I transposed all to treble clef and are like guitar and bass, sound an octave lower than written EXCEPT for the mandolin which is sounds as written. Any advice would be good advice.
