Micromanagement05 Main Problems

Coach Roberto Licolicoreis@licoreis.com

By definition, micromanagement is a management style whereby a

manager closely observes or controls the work of subordinates or

employees.

Problem 01: Loss of controlWhen you micromanage your staff, you start giving up the effectiveness of any available management

tool. And when that happens you end up losing control and the ability to communicate well with

your team.

Problem 02: Loss of trustMicromanagement will lead to a massive

breakdown of trust since your staff will no longer see you as a manager, but a tyrant.

Problem 03: Dependent employeesMicromanagement makes your team feel like they

can no longer handle the work without constant guidance, setting up a dependable relationship.

Problem 04: Your own burnoutYou should be aware that micromanaging is

extremely exhausting. It demands a lot of work since checking subordinates and their activities it is

not an easy task.

Problem 05: High staff turnoverIt is well-known that most people don’t take well

to being micromanaged. When employees are micromanaged, they often do one thing; quit.
